• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2017 F3S - will it get vibrations? Does it have a belt tensioner?

Do the 2017s have the belt tensioners already installed or is the vibration not going to be an issue with them.

What exactly does the belt tensioner improve? Is it the same as the idler pulley?

Here's the thing....

Having the longest belts in the industry...there is always vibrations. This item helps get rid of the annoying vibration which only occurs at certain speeds...They will always be an add on so get them to put it on as an incentive.....

Forgot about it...

Had the OEM "gadget" installed a few months ago and the vibration problem no longer exists...can't make it any plainer than that. I actually forgot this had been a problem and believe me, my F3 had it bad. Cheap fix...and no longer an F3 "issue" IMHO.

:agree:, it is a $35 dollar item, if they dont throw it in, buy it, simple install.

You're not gonna see them doing these factory. Spend the $40... take the ride.

I wonder why not? :dontknow:
It would seem to be a pretty cheap part for them to add to the bike; do you think that it would complicate the assembly process?

i think they see it as a line in the sand, Bob. If they add this at the factory, which some don't even need, they will be opening themselves to other possible mods that they might have to consider/do. This part is manufactured as a courtesy to the F3 folks that don't like the vibration. I could be wrong, but that is my take.

Hi Doc,
I can see your point.
About the only time that I get to the speeds where buzziness becomes a factor, is when I'm riding to SpyderFest with a bunch of speed demons! :riding::riding::riding::riding:

I agree, I have a 2020 F3 and added a Lamonster tensioner. More expensive ($89.00), but has a better bearing and bigger wheel! Took the vibration from 65-75 away. Well worth money and two bolt install!

I may be mistaken, but 2020-21 F3s & RTs come with a beefed up sprocket and 2021 RTs come with an idler. Part numbers below.

705503239 new 28 tooth
705502134 old 28 tooth

Idler Pulley RT 705503291

My 2020 F3 is the “basic” model. No new sprocket or tensioner! Like stated before, by installing this tensioner, took all vibration away!
