• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2016 RT

Just up graded to the new 2016 RT Limited.
I have 2 questions.
1. I've heard that it has an instant start now.
is that true?
2. Have they loosened the Nanny grip?

Thanks All
Butch

If by instant start you mean turn the key on and press the start button, then no is the answer. However, you don't have to wait for the nanny to do it's thing. You can put the key in the ignition, press the mode button, and then press the start button and the spyder should start. At least it does on my '16 RTS. I'm not sure what you mean by loosen the grip on the nanny, but I'm not aware of any changes. Dale

Unless I decide to start robbing banks in order to pay for my bikes: "Instant-Start", is pretty far down on my "Wish-List"... :dontknow:
Turn the key, and pull your helmet and gloves on!

:congrats: on your new bike!!

my 2016 RTL has what I would call instant start up. I turn on the key and press the mode button and It starts right up. there is no waiting for the screen to light up. the other question you asked I know nothing about.

As far as instant start, my '17 Daytona starts without delay. Key, Mode, then Start. As far as the nanny goes, my Daytona is the only model that you can turn off most of the nannys' function with "Sport" mode. I have had it in it once just to test. Only thing I will use it for is to play in the snow probably.

It won't make you faster around the twisties. The real skill I think is learning to ryde right up to just before she takes over.

2015 RT-S does the same. Key on push mode button then start button. No need to wait for display to boot up. Less then 5 sec to start.

The 2017 F3S also has the sport mode.

You have obviously never sat silent in gridlock with 100,000 cars behind you when traffic starts to move,
and you wave at everyone and announce "I'm waiting for my toast to pop up"

Wish that sport mode was on my RT Limited

You won't see it on our bikes! nojoke
The F-3s can get away with it only because of their much lower center of gravity...

It'd be about like handing an eight year-old, a loaded revolver. :yikes:

Really...🤔

Better but not gonna ever be like you your car where you just turn the key and start. The first to have what they call instant start is the police versions. The 17's should be better, the RS was always a faster start because there were less things to check ( key mode and start). As for the nanny, the F3 Daytona has that feature with the on off sport mode. Don't see it on the RT because of the style spyder it is...

I agree completely. I dont have the heavy swaybar and I can still keep up with the crotch rockets in the twisties. I have only been riding for two years, but style and technique seems to work just fine for me. Dancing wieners for everyone!:yes::yes:

It seems that the start procedure was changed during the 2015 model year. My 2015 RTs requires me to wait. Pushing the mode button does nothing until the start sequence times out. Not really a big deal.
