• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2016 F3 Limited vs. 2017 F3 Limited

I realize that the 2016 does not have a top case but that is available on line. So what
else would be different? The reason for this is $24+K for a 2016 and $29+K for the 2017.
Both are new and available in the color I want. I just need some knowledgeable help with
making a good purchasing decision. One dealership says that they are basically the same
other than top case and another says they are really different.

Help and thanks in advance!

The automatic air ride control, the color coded top box with the speakers and amp with the dual USB, the only difference that i know of.

a new 2016 should have a 3 year warranty versus the 2 year for the 2017. (not sure if this promotion is still available)

The 2017 also has passenger floorboards and a different passenger seat. Wider and better shaped.

I looked at both and could NOT justify the price difference at all. I bought the 2016 F3T-Limited and am very pleased except for the scratch susceptible black paint...not very good. You can add the rear box if you want, I doubt I will though, I'm too busy supporting LaMont's business. You may wonder why LaMont includes that LaMonster decal with every order - I figured it out. See, at some point it is no longer a BRP Spyder, it becomes a LaMonster Spyder and then it is mandatory to cover up that BRP Logo. That's a fact.

Just my 2 cents.....

I faced that dilemma a few weeks ago.....given the choice between a 2017 F3 Limited or a left over 2016. For me, the decision was based on the fact that I didn't really like the look of the top case, nor did I have the need. My Honey has a RT Limited, so if storage is an issue - well, he'll just have to carry my stuff as well.
:opps: Thanks to the advice of another F3 owner, I did purchase a Dowco "Iron Rider" storage bag (for $65.00 - thanks Ebay!) that fits perfectly on the passenger seat just in case additional storage is needed. Search the posts for "F3 storage" as he also posted three pictures of the bag on his F3 Limited. As another poster mentioned, the 2016 doesn't come with the passenger foot boards which wasn't a consideration for me as I won't be riding 2 up. I guess the best thing for you would be to determine if you'll be carrying a passenger so you would need the pegs or foot boards, and if you think you'll need the additional storage. For me, the difference between the 2016 and 2017 and my needs didn't justify the extra money. Good luck and enjoy!

I did the same thing. The price was to good to pass up on the left over 2016 limited to justify the top case that I can get anytime I wanted. And all the rest is pretty much the same or very little difference to justify spending that much more money. Reguardless you'll be very happy with your decision and you'll love it alot..

When the 2017's were first introduced I remember reading the rear sprocket would be changed to the 79 tooth on the F3 and all would get an improved DPS. For some reason the Y-Tube video, put out by BRP, has been deleted so I don't know if this is still true. Wayne
