• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2016 F3 Limited Heated Grips

Just brought the brand new F3 home tonight and it was 32F (0C) pulling into the garage. The factory heated grips worked awesome.
My question is, the light on the push button heated grips switch was on when they were on and when they were off.
How do I know if they are on or off other than feeling the heat though my gloves after 5 minutes of riding.

Also, they don't mention anything about heated grips in the owners manual. If they do, what page is it on.

That's why I wired my driving light switch to only have the switch light illuminated when I press it on, Al. As Pirate says, it is only "slightly" depressed and that "slightly" is nearly impossible to see while you are riding (although your warm hands will give it away:yes:).

Thought the same but its not what it appeares to be.

I had electric grips installed by the dealer when I bought my bike. The button stays lit regardless if on or off. When you shut off the bike it stays lit for a few seconds to further confuse the confused. Making matters even worse, I cant tell if the heaters are on-off with gloves on while I'm riding, except when the grips finally get warm (or not). What I can say is that they work! Visualizing the switch (up-down) is also impossible while riding. I found myself (with my gloves on) passing my fingers over the switch feeling for an "indent" telling me the switch was on. I sort of like the simplicity of the system because its on-off rather than several increments (heat levels) that you need to go thru. My thoughts.

I am considering having them installed on my F3. I have heard mixed reviews on how hot they get. My neighbor has a Harley with heated grips and when set on high, they are almost too hot to touch without gloves. Any comments on the BRP heat level?

Thanks

Very Warm!

I rode home 45 miles from the dealer without a windshield with the heated grips on in 32 degree weather. They were VERY noticeably warm and worked like a charm. I can not attest to saying "hot" because the word is argumentative. My thoughts.

The F3 Limited only has an on/off switch, Chris, so there is only one setting. As such, it has to be all things to all people, so you will find it is middle of the range for heat.......I thought the Limited (is that yours in your profile? ) came with heated grips as standard? Mine certainly did.
