• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 TO 2018 RT LIMITED CHANGES

The New Digital Dash, large panoramic 7.8 in. wide LCD color display with BRP Connect , covered very well here and on BRP's Can-AM website.
Other than that, I don't think very much else except color /trim choices.
I forgot, they dropped the separate GPS unit and I think I read in another thread, no more AM radio, even though the website says Premium 6 speaker AM/FM Radio......

A few changes....

2014 brought the 1330 engine and SE6 transmission
2015 brought fast start and a one piece rear wheel
2016 brought USB ports replacing the DIN plug in the trunk and the ability to play mp3 files directly from a thumb drive
2017 did not change much
2018 brought BRP connect and a complete new electronics package.

A few changes....
2018 brought BRP connect and a complete new electronics package.

For me personally, I'm holding on to my 2015 for the following reasons:
1. Don't understand why BRP can't bring out new technology that's "Not Ready For Prime Time". This forum is littered with the bugs that have plagued the new technology package/digital dash/BRP connect/Genius Maps that the early adopters have had to deal with. I'm sure an additional part of the issue is that 99% of the dealers don't understand it either.
2. My RT Limited only has 12,000 miles on it, and is still under warranty until 2020. In 2017 we began trailering to events. Nearing 70, we don't like riding in storms, getting to an event hot sweaty, and worn out, and dealing with all the distracted speed demons on the roads.
3. Not significant enough upgrades to make me want to trade my '15 in.
Good luck with your decision.
Mike

A kind word of defense for the product.

RE: First adopters:

2008 SM5--got the first one sold in AK
2009 SE5--got one of the first SE's in AK
2010 RTS-Premier #484 Got one of the "early" versions
2014 RT-S One of the early 1330's to hit AK.

I have been a "beta tester" (unpaid/unthanked) for four out of five. The only other one I have had is the 2011--by then, the RT's were pretty well known.

Was going to purchase a 2013 RT--because I wanted yellow. Glad that did not work out. Waited until 2014 instead and ended up with the 1330.

On my five--I have 140,000 (and counting) miles. The 08, 09, & 10 are gone. Never had a major problem with ANY of my five. Both current have 30K miles--and counting. I have been happy with the brand. I would recommend the brand. Not currently in the market. Wait and see time for me.:bowdown:
