There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm sorry, but I'm about to ruffle some feathers. Your question assumes that the people who put on spyderfest can just waive a magic wand and spyderfest occurs. You have no idea what all is involved (nor do I for that matter) in making this event happen. There are just too many variables and hurdles that have to be overcome.
These folks who put on spyderfest will post the dates and times JUST AS SOON as they can. I'm sure that they are JUST as anxious as all of us, but because of what all is involved they cannot.
Please be patient and they will. Rome wasn't built in a day. Again, if I have ruffled a feather or two, I won't apologize because obviously it isn't a mistake because I posted this. However, I will say that I have not done so with malice.

Chris, your assumption would b wrong. I know it takes a lot to plan an event. I'm not asking for details of the event. However in terms of the dates of the event, that is different. The dates I'm confident are known, that's all I'm asking.
In planning large events one of the first thing that gets set is THE DATE. So slow your roll and don't make assumptions. You didn't ruffle my feathers because I simply asked a question. Maybe your feathers were ruffled. Dates are easy to release, no one needs the details of the event now. But the dates yes.

Maybe your feathers were ruffled. Dates are easy to release, no one needs the details of the event now. But the dates yes.

Last bit of information from the MO Gang was they have many venues that have to all work together at the SAME time - that is why there is no date as yet.
MO Gang is on top of the program I can assure you (from my meeting some of them last Spyderfest) - and will post when they can.

There are getting to be so many :ani29: related events that it seems information should be put out as soon as possible--once the core plan has been put into effect.
This will avoid stepping on other events toes or overlapping with said events.
Most of the time, there seems to be a few months advance time, so it should be sufficient for most. It does put a drag on those who have to apply for vacation time a year in advance though.
Some have made their initial reservations based on the same time frame as the previous year(s). My guess is that most places can accept an adjustment if necessary two to three months in advance.
The only problem is if something "earthshattering" happens, such as changing the main time frame or the location of the event.
