There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

That's probably the belt harmonics...
The best way to reduce it is to keep a real close eye on your belt tension and alignment. :thumbup:

Many of us have experienced this. Some have added tensioners to reduce the vibes. Search is your friend.

It's just my opinion; I've never found it to be a problem... If I feel the vibration; I know that I'm travelling faster than I normally should, so I slow down.
If I need to run at those speeds, a couple of more mph, and they settle out on their own! :thumbup:

there are many possible reasons. Best test is does it stay constant or only at a certain speed. Harmonics fit as well as belt vibrations on fixed speeds in rear area. Being that new ryde it a bit longer and study the vibration. You could run it by the dealer and have them check the belt tension tire air pressure and belt alignment...:thumbup:

Depending on the road and speed it occurs between 65-75mph.
It's road/belt harmonics.
Take a rubber band, stretch between to screw drivers until band is tight, then tap the handles against a table.
Notice the band is vibrating.
Same thing is happening to the belt.
In many cases a laser alignment and properly balanced tires can reduce the effects but not eliminate it entirely.
Barley noticeable on mine now except for a moment around 75mph. I just give it a little more or a little less and it disappears.

Took the bike out on the Interstate 64 on a smooth Black top and as soon as I got up to 70 MPH the spyder started vibrating I twisted the throttle up to 77 MPH and the vibrations seemed to get worst. I agree I believe the belt is the problem. I know I shouldn't be driving that fast but, I want to make sure it can move out of the way of these 18 wheelers and crazy car drivers. Who misuse the HOV lanes. Thanks again to all.

I have a 2014 RT L and I get a vibration around 70. I can tell it is coming from the belt. I can speed up a little or back off a little and it goes away, so I just try to stay out of that speed zone if possible. If I have the trailer behind me, the speed of which it starts changes a little, but not much. I think this is an issue consistent across the RTs. I had my belt tension checked and it was within limits and it is tracking straight so not sure what the fix is, if any.

Try putting a small (REAL SMALL, about the size of a pea) of high quality belt grease spread it out in about three close spots on the sprocket, then take it for a 5 mile ride. Sometimes the belt vibrates because it can't come off the sprocket fast enough, this tiny, tiny amount of grease will help. BRP had a service bulletin out on this, i will try to find it.

Don't use cheap grease & don't use but a very small amount.

I installed a smooth rider unit offered by [email protected] phone 305-258-0408. What a difference it made , no more belt vibration ever. It is a spring loaded idler pull just like the one most cars have on the serpentine belt. Try this test, set you cruise control at 77 MPH then touch the cruise control button to drop the sped one MPH. Did you feel the belt vibrate? If you did even though the belt is installed perfectly I would recommend installing the smooth spyder unit. All that shaking of the belt can't be good for it. I also noticed that the shifting of the gears is also smoother.

I installed Jims unit and still have the vibration at certain speeds.I have it set on the higher side using the gauge that came with the unit :dontknow::dontknow:

And id it is annoying! Had it on my 2013, 2014, and my F3. Don't listen to: you are going too fast, or just ride through it, etc. they should not do that. Vendors on our forum: Smooth Spyder belt tensioners orBaker Air wings make a tensioner that will stop it.
