There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2015 RT-S SE6 Traction Control System (TCS)

I've looked for a discussion on this but didn't find anything. My apologies if this has been discussed but I missed it.

I've been curious as to when the traction control system on my 2015 RT-S SE6 kicks in. I've done three experiments and no TCS was detected (i.e., no automatic system ended the spinning) in any of them:

1) On smooth carport concrete, hitting the gas hard spun the rear tire.
2) On a paved road that has a light amount of sand (such as a road near the beach), accelerating briskly spun the rear tire.
3) On damp pavement, accelerating normally from a stoplight, across the wide painted "stop before here" strip, spun the tire.

I have 5000 miles on the tire and it still looks nearly new. I'm not in the habit of hard acceleration, cornering, or braking so the tire has minimal wear.

I'm wondering what people's thoughts are on this. Maybe I backed off the throttle before the TCS could kick in?

Thanks!

Hi,

Your speed is less than 20km/h, does not kick in, more than that if you turn your steering maybe more than 45degree it will kick in. Maybe is not exact but number , but is the way they work. The same with electric parking brake, think is over 20km/h does not activate for protection , if you press it on highway.

According to VSS vehicle stability system section pg 52 in manual TSC will limit rear wheel spin only if you turn out of straight line or if vehicle exceedes 50km/hour- 31MPH:thumbup:

Per the service manual:

The TCS optimizes rear wheel traction to help
keep the vehicle on its intended course. It can
reduce engine torque if necessary. It may also
apply brake on rear caliper if necessary.
The TCS will limit rear wheel spin and is throttle
dependant.
At WOT (throttle opening above 90%), TCS will
allow rear wheel slip speed up to redline in first
gear.
At lower throttle opening, TCS will manage rear
wheel slip to allow maximum acceleration and
control.

:D You know what they say:
 "The memory is the second thing to go, and I've already forgotten what the first one was..." :gaah:
