2015 F3 fender mount broke

Riding home from work and I look down at the left side and the mud flap side of the fender is shimmying back and forth in the wind. Pulled over and my fender is not attached anymore. I got home and pulled it off and the molded plastic mount just broke off. Seems like a really flimsy design. Not sure if I can super glue and silicone the plastic part back on or not yet. For now, I removed the other front fender too and I'm going open wheel. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

I would check with your dealer to determine if it is a warranty replacement.

Hopefully it is warranty. What style do you have? I don't see the screws that secure the upper ridge with reflectors so I'm guessing yours has the single groove running down the middle. if it does have the upper piece you could run a couple of screws/bolts down from the top to secure it as they would be hidden.

No I don't believe it is legal. I believe the vehicle code says any vehicle with three or more wheels must have fenders. So I guess if you have a motorcycle with two wheels you can have a bobber no problem.

It does have a single groove down the center so fashioning my own bracket would be pretty ugly. I'm going to try using crazy glue and then silicone around the area where broke trying to strengthen it.

Hey Docbilly, I don't know if the superglue will hold that, I believe a better option would be J.B. Weld for plastic. Clean the area really good and mix your 2 ingredients together. works like bondo and you can reinforce weak areas. When it hardens it will be strong. Dennis

I would also check with the dealership to see if it's under warrenty... you may not have to do anything (unless of course you'd rather...).

WOW... first I've seen this on an F3. I would for sure do a warranty claim if you can.... shouldn't break like that!
I've seen many others ride without front fenders.... doubt you'll get in any trouble.. but for sure will get some dirt and rain on you.

So here's the update...

i picked up jb weld specifically made for plastic. Cleaned the area and used the jb weld to glue the mount back on. Worked perfectly!

Sounds like someone could have sat on it or jerked on it. Got some messed up people out there now.
