• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any recommendations for a backrest other than the model from BRP which is costly ?
The Smoothspyder backrest looks promising but would like to see others.

Smooth spyder is way to go:thumbup: You will be happy & Jim has made it :firstplace: nojoke Ability to change from driver to passenger with no tools is awesome handy, very well thought out & well made :bowdown:nojoke

backrest

I use the Ultimate backrest on my 2015 F3-S and like it for the following reasons:
1. It's not bulky in appearance or size
2. It's adjustable up/down, forward/backward
3. It folds down to ease mounting/dismounting the Spyder
4. It has a small pouch on back for storing small items
5. It's a comfortable fit for me
6. It fits between the rider seat and the passenger seat, even with my Russell Day Long rider seat and a tail bag on the rear seat

I have seen the ultimate and the lamonster in pics. Just waiting for one of them to create a bracket for the passenger backrest.

I had seen the utopia but in the f3 pics it looked like the drivers backrest mounted thru the passenger seat, not between the seats.
From what you say, it mounts between the seats.
Is this the way the bracket mounts?
Thanks. View attachment 137879

Both my wife and I have the Ultimate Seats backrest for our F3 Limiteds. We like them a lot. Can't say the same for the stock seat.

Great service from Smoothspyder

Well I did order the Dual-Mode backrest for my F3S from Smoothspyder.
Main reason was for me the looks and the duality, great idea!
Jim gave me great support, it was in no time in Holland and he even balanced the final cost of shipping (not many would do that:doorag:).
Like I said, in no time in Holland but then you get the f****ng customs and local transport. Took more than the first stint.
So after paying the customs :opps:, i could collect the package.
All I can say is that the installation was a breeze. Due to locktite had a minor issue with loosening one bolt but that was all.
So it is on, looks good and even my express-cover fits perfectly:clap:
Now it is time to go for a ride but that will have to wait a little bit.
Just sitting on it, already gave me a lot of trust in another great ride.
But I will report the results here...............

I just put 1,800 miles on my new F3 using the Ultimate/Lamonster backrest and it's great. Nice storage pouch in the back, easy to adjust, looks good and feels great.
