• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 1330 "whine"

I have a 2015 RT and don't mind the air intake sounds. I do hate that *&%^ whine sound that I hear at 39 - 44 mph. It is not RPM related and is very irritating! Does anyone else hear it and "is it normal"? I am concerned because I rode a 2011 with clutch problems for over a year because I didn't know it wasn't "normal".

Take it back to the dealer.Mine sounds ok.Let them test ride it to see if there is a problem.Maybe ride another one like yours to see if it,s normal.

I have ridden at least 3 different 2015 RT s in addition to my 2015 F3 and have not heard any whining from the 1330 engine at any speeds

2015 1330 "whine.

Mine did it when new but got better after a few hundred miles, as my dealer said it would.

I just keep turning the radio up louder...

...Which makes the whine from my Missus... Louder Still! :banghead:

19,000 + miles and still have it

Mine still does it most of the time and I have 12'000 miles on it
I have been trying to fine the source

I have the "whine" at that speed range. I am used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore - may have the dealer look at it when I take in in for the 28,000 mile service.

To me, it almost sounds like a transmission whine at that speed. It has been there from the beginning and seems to not be an issue other than an annoyance. I can hear it as the driver, but my rider states she doesn't hear it! People I go by don't look, so it maybe more a driver thing than a loud noise outside the bike???? It has not gotten any worse so I think it's OK .

We normally rent Gold Wings when travelling - they "whine" also during certain acceleration and speeds - probably normal powertrain type of noise.

I have a 2014 RT and mine whines at 36 mph. I just make sure I don't ride at that speed!

Whine noise -2015 Spyder RTL

I also have the annoying whine noise around 70 km/hr. Shifting gears does not change it. Less pronounced on acceleration, more prounced on cruising or deceleration. Goes away completely after 80 km/hr. In researching other posts/forums, it was suggested that it may be belt related. Has anyone had this problem and had something done that actually allieviated it?

The whine on my goldwing was the gears on the alternator. Something about how they are cut makes them whine. I don't know for sure but this type of construction may be the problem on these bikes as well. I'm not an expert by any means, so take it for what it's worth. Chris
