• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks!

They are selling an " easy off - easy on " system for the side mirrors of the RT's....... they are STRONG MAGNETS w/plates that re-place the OEM method of attachment ...... visit the link above ( in post # 41 ) and watch the video they have ...... Mike

Thanks Mike,

I went to the site this morning, and I watched the video yesterday. I just wasn't sure how it all works.

My bike is a 2017 RT-S, with 8000 kms on it. I have had my mirrors off once, and plan on having them off again in the spring. I am not sure at this time if I need these new attachments, but am interested, and will be watching.....

I have a question:
Have these mirrors been given a really good test over a really ROUGH washboard-style road surface? :dontknow:
(I'm just wondering what it might take; to shake them loose...)

wondering this very thing myself. but if he is using Rare Earth magnets I expect they will hang tough.

I'm not really into 'Spyder Abuse' either (altho others may question that!) but having driven/ridden quite a few miles on what I was reliably assured were some of the USA's roughest & most corrugated back country roads as well as travelling most of Australia's, so I know how bad they can get, I'm pretty positive that these Magic Mirror Mounts have been tested on roads somewhat rougher than the majority of the USA's 'formed roads' & even most of our 'made roads'! ;)

I live fairly well outside the nearest city here in South Aust, and I'd guess that probably about one third of the local roads around here aren't sealed at all & many of those see little if any maintenance from one decade to the next; so many of them are quite rough, corrugated somewhat, &/or fairly rutted - lots of car drivers won't even take their cars onto them! I don't always 'seek them out', but neither do I go out of my way to avoid those dirt roads when I'm out ryding, altho when I hit them I do slow down more on the Spyder, especially if the dirt is badly corrugated, than I probably would if I was in a 4WD or a Rally prep'ped Car, but regardless, the Magic Mounts just do NOT move; in fact, the whole mirror assy vibrates far less now on these roads than they did with the OE mounts! And some of our sealed roads aren't that crash hot either, with numerous (maybe even 'millions'!) of patches 'quilting' the entire surface so that ryding (or driving) on them becomes quite uncomfortable & jarring at times, especially if you are doing any speed much more than a brisk walking pace - but the Magic Mounts still don't budge! :D

I'm pretty convinced that the Magics are a heap better as Mirror Mounts than the OE placcy gear, and I'd hazard a guess that I'm probably one of the relatively few Spyder ryders around who has ridden their Spyders on roads that were rough enough to make the OE mounts just give up & let go (& they did!) The Magic Mounts show NO sign of doing the same..... but I'm still not gonna 'crash test' my Spyder to check them out under the most extreme circumstances!!

Still, I'd be pretty confident in saying that these Magic Mounts have been tested to extremes I doubt too many Spyder Ryders will exceed, and so far, they've stood up to all 'road' surfaces and anything & everything thrown at them! If you want to test them under 'more extreme' conditions, you might just hafta buy a set & see for yourself! Me, I'm pretty convinced that the Magic Mirror Mounts FAR exceed the OE Mirror Mounts AS Mirror Mounts!

(And btw, NO, I do not receive any commission or kick-backs based on sales of these mounts or anything else - I just appreciate a bloody good idea & the simple execution of said idea to improve our Spyders & make easier our use & appreciation of them! ;) )

Russ & Peter,
Thanks for the reassurances. As I was typing my question; I was wondering just how well the OEM mounts would hold up to the same test. :D
Please let me know when you're ready to start shipping them in my direction.
Oh! Will you be set up to accept payments via Pay-Pal?

same problem. Unable to enter that sight no idea who this blueknight is either. Anyhow the mirrors sure have a crappy mounting system.
Blueknight911 is Mike, he has the" Avatar with the Bulldog" when the dog was a puppy, on the back of his couch. He is very helpful on this site! Deanna

THE MAGIC IN THE MAGIC MIRRORS

Although as yet I have no hands on experience with these mirrors, but here's something to consider as to why they will work ..... Unlike a normal holding device which if jogged loose will not RETURN to the hold it had ..... MAGNETS WILL  ... If you hit something hard enough to break the connection of one of the magnets .....because of the PULL , it will return to it's original position ...... this is why these things are going to work ....... If you watch the Promo video you can see how strong the pull of the Magnets are. Of course if you hit a tree at 25 MPH they will come off ENTIRELY , but that won't be your main concern at this point :banghead: .........JMHO ...... Mike

me too

ranman..im on my 2nd RT
i broke my first top mount while fitting elkas to first bike....only had 500ks or 350mls up
talk about early baptism........since then i have hated the oem mounts:sour:

I was installing my gps. The dealer showed me how easy it was to remove the mirrors. I was able to remove it without problems. Took several tries to get it back on and secure. I was going to add something else I got the mirror off easy and thought well this is better. During second install I snapped the top clip right off and naturally the bottom wouldn't attach. Lucky the dealer keeps a stock of the clips. Makes me think they break a lot more than they admit. Small shop in rural America. I don't think I had 1000 miles on it yet. Couldn't believe they had such a weak crappy design to hold them on. Counting the days until your site and shipping go live.

Thank you again

 If he buys enough magnets to fill the orders all at once: it's gonna pull all of the iron out of his blood, and kill him! :yikes:

:joke::joke::joke:

Thanks, Russ!
So just to confirm: we can order them now?
Or would it be best to wait for an official notification from you?
