• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2014 Spyder RT Limited

After owning numerous Spyder Limiteds I took the plunge earlier this year and bought a 2014. I do have to say that BRP did it right when they designed this one. Everything about it is fantastic, however I'm still trying to digest the sound of the engine. To me it sounds like a diesel engine. The handling is much improved, transmission shifts so smooth its hard to tell it is even shifting, and the best part is you don't need many frackles to make it sparkle. I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to enjoy such a great riding and handling machine. Nice Job BRP.

Congrats

:agree: The 2014 is a fantastic :spyder2:

 To your new adventures and your new ride that will take you on them.

:D Pretty darn neat; aren't they?
If they sound like a diesel; just tell folks that's what's powering it...BRP's new "Clean Diesel" technology, that gets 20% better fuel economy! :roflblack:

Congratulations..!!

from all we hear it is a great machine. As for the sound...open it up with a better pipe...enjoy your new ryde..!! :ohyea::ohyea:

My wife and I just traded our 2013 RT Limited for the 2014. My wife drove it first with me on the back. Yeah I rhode bitch!! Lol. Through my Headset all I could hear for the first 30 minutes was OH WOW...... WOOOOOOOOO! ..... I CANT BELIEVE HOW AWSOME THIS IS..... OH WOW... OH OH OH MY GOD!!!!!! Etc etc...

All the while I am chomping at the bits to get behind the wheel! That was the longest 30 minutes of my life!! Rest assured when she finally turned over the rains to me I just said yeah it's ok I guess while inside I was thinking, OH WOW...... WOOOOOOOOO! ..... I CANT BELIEVE HOW AWSOME THIS IS..... OH WOW... OH OH OH MY GOD!!!!!

RE: Engine sound. There are times when I start up that the engine sometimes reminds me of a diesel. When fully warmed up, it reminds me of the inline fours that used to be on a lot of motorcycles. Dare I say Gold Wing or old style (1980's) Yamaha Ventures? Very smooth and almost no engine noise operation.

I was enjoying that very much the other day when I was descending Hatcher Pass.

Such a difference that I am not ryding akspyderlady's 2011 much any more.

Just picked ours up 3 days ago and already have 647 miles on it. congrats on your purchase,I'm still trying to get warmed up to it after broken leg/knee last july.Wife made me give up WING/KLR and sleds for time being. You mentioned sound, have to agree w/you sounds more "industrial" than some of the bikes I've owned. Articles I've read, said it was a cross between a Wing and Triumph ROCKET. It needs a deeper/throatier roar out the back. Still fun to ride in it's own special way. What really matters is that the wife is happy to hop on and spend a week on it when vacation time gets her. Be safe and ride on!!
