2014 side saddles are smaller

Yesterday I packed up the larger of the two luggage pieces that i purchased for my old 2012 RT and tried to place it into my new 2014 RT Ltd. It wouldn't fit. I swear that I had used it in my 2012 before I sold it. Are the side storage bays on the 2014 smaller than the 2012? Sure seems like it. Maybe that is why BRP stopped providing the side luggage pieces with the Ltd.

I kept my luggage from my 2012 RT Limited and they fit perfect in the 2014 RT Limited. Now I'm talking about BRP luggage.

I kept mine from my 2011 limited and they still work great.

I saved my four BRP luggage pieces. Have not had a chance to try them in the 2014 yet--but am sure they will all fit in the 2011.

Sizes

The saddlebags are different sizes. The right side holds a full face helmet; the left does not. Try switching sides.

I met a new Spyder owner this weekend and he was upset that his helmet would not fit in the saddlebag, i put his helmet in the other side and it fit, he was happy, he only tried one side and gave up.

Since they've moved the battery out of that spot behind the left "saddlebag"; I wonder if BRP has any plans to expand it into the vacant space? :dontknow:
(I DO know that the evaporative canister is using up a bit of the space...)
