• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RTS SE5 Sound

I went to my dealer today to check out the new 2014 RTS SE5. They had a demo and I thought I might ride it. I started it up.:roflblack: I immediately decided it was not for me. One of the reasons I ride is that I like the sound of a motorcycle engine. My wife said it first, but I agree, it sounds like the old VW Beetle. Just my 2 cents worth, but I don't want one that sounds like that. After the heat fixes and exhaust modifications, my 2013 RTS SE5 is just fine for me and my wife.

Thats funny, one of the things i like about the 14 is the quieter ride. Different strokes for different folks

Exhaust note will not be a deciding factor for me. That is something that can be modified if a person really wants the new 2014 and sound is the only glitch. I kind of like the idea that the new one will be quieter. I don't wear ear plugs and don't like the way my ears ring after a long ryde.

It did not take him long to make up his mind. Glad they were able to satisfy their need to know if they wanted one or not. Actually I don't have the need or the urge for a first year model change. But there will always be some one to buy the one I did not.

i don't think spending $30 k bucks and not getting what you want is a wise investment. But every one of us has had our moments of financial dumbness (for the lack of a better descriptive word). Spyder after market exhaust systems cost a bloody bunch of bucks for what you get in return IMO,

Personally I don't understand the need for more noise pollution we have enough of that already and no one has ever proven that loud saves lives is true or myth. QUIET is NICE! Besides the Spyder machine makes enough noise as it comes,

Hard to say..!!

do agree with you if you like thumpers. Have had triple 2 strokers and four stokers singles and parallel twins and last one was a flat four. They all have their sound but I do like the roadster twin. I'll switch when they come out with the V4....

I used to run 2 stroke triples in England and have run three other Triples (Triumphs) and they have a different sound and feel to anything else...not as chunky as a V and not as whiney as a four...the triple has more of a growl. Can't wait to hear one.

I guess no matter how BRP tries to please the Spyder population, there will be someone who is not satisfied. So, BRP, if you're listening keep improving the Spyder. Some will buy, some won't, but don't try and please everybody. It just screws up a good product.

Are you SURE that you don't need to dig some wax out of your ears, and give it another chance?

No thanks. I'll wait until someone else spends the money to remove the cat and replace the muffler, and see if it is something I could live with. When someone does, I hope he/she will post a video. Until then No thanks.

My ears are clean, and I still do not like the sound of the engine. Beauty is in the ear of the listener.
