• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2014 RTS-FRUNKGATE!-UPDATE

Here we go again.....understood, that is not the point.
you may not of liked the switch but for a single switch there are a lot of us that do.....Make Sense?

Happy Riding all.

Sorry but you made it the point when you said that with the motor running you need to hit the switch. Well you don't you can still turn the key and keep the motor running.

Interesting that they would show it as an option in the catalog, but not offer it or even acknowledge it in person, when speaking to them. Similar situation when they phased out the RTS cover, my 201 had one and my 2011 did not. Then they cut back the luggage for the LTD and cut out that cover, too. It seems to have become standard practice for them to introduce a model with a lot of frills, and then slowly make them extra-cost options. Aren't marketing folks fun?
Marketing professors call this "skimming the market". (Yes. They really call it that.). It is done in everything from cars to toasters.

I believe the part you're looking for is 710002353 Switch, Hood/Parking Brake. It is listed as costing $55.99 in the 2013 RT-S parts catalog.

When you do buy the switch? Well you get the hole set up. But the dam switch come in blue and still fits in the dam parking brake side like the 10-13 had but blue? They say we do not have and orange lights just the blue kit. . Way to go BRP for laying to us on this switch setup. Really BRP Really..........pis poor.........found and used one to day on eBay for 10$$ and is orange. Not to replace it... Boy what a really mess up BRP has done.......Really BRP Really...

I got the dealer that sold me my fog lights to get an orange one to replace the blue one that came in the kit. I am waiting patiently for it.

That's cool!
But it shouldn't have to fall upon a dealer...
BRP should have TWO kits available:
Blue Switch
Orange Switch
:2thumbs:

Orange Switch

:agree: One listed 2010-2012 (2012 has blue right?) and the other 2013-

I believe the 2010 and 2011 are blue, the 2012 I know is orange because I had to have mine replaced. Seems like they went back to blue on the 2013.

Go figure! Ann

Purchased the optional frunk switch and specifically asked dealer to match the color of the other switches...you guessed it...got blue! Asked BRP why blue on the Can Am Facebook page...no response...yet.

Oh, forgot to mention, the blue light on the switch is very visible even in the bright sunlight.

BTW, went for a 124 mile ryde this morning...temps in the mid 30s...pulled in the garage and odometer registered 800 miles. Not too shabby for 7 days of ownership...love my 2014 RT-L.

I loved that switch on my 2012 RT L and used it often (even matched all the others -- orange) LOL. I really don't know why they decided (other than someone NOT knowing what he/she was doing) to remove that frunk electric switch.....really a stupid move by BRP in my opinion.

Now that I have the 2014 RT L, I think I'm going to "live with it" and NOT install the dash frunk switch....it hurts me to say that! Thanks for letting me vent - I'm done talking about this and will move on................

Just would like to ask BRP -- "Why do you call it a limited?" It should include all bells and whistles and not remove items previously in earlier models, especially useful items -- why don't you talk with your customers on what's important or not. :banghead::banghead:

No they are orange like the 12 then, just the switch in the fog light kit was blue. :banghead: Guess they had a 50% chance of getting the right color.:dontknow:

I am in the process of installing an aftermarket setup with a hidden remote switch. I just got the momentary switch so should have the new set up in shortly. Cost me less that $20 for very thing. I can open the trunk key on or key off this way.

You need the 2013 switch and kit outher wise you Will get the Blue setup and now 13 are orange so make shure your dealer orders the right switch for you. The order unlock system by its self. Really ..

Ok, trunk lock is installed and works great. The wires are tight against the trunk micro switch connector but it works great! 3 down

Here is a picture of the frunk release. Nothing difficult about this at all, 2 bolts and 2 wires. No relays needed as it only pushes against the existing frunk lock arm
