• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RTS ate a belt today!!! Teeth missing!

I've owned 3 Spyders .... I have never purposefully cleaned any of the belts, other than when washing the Spyder. ... I haven't seen any maintenance schedule that says your supposed to this..... good luck .... Mike

I'll bet it looked showroom ready though.

My Spyder is lucky to get a hose and bucket wash twice a year. Windshield more often. Belt and tires...just overspray.

The rear wheel gets really cruddy. That is why I clean it. Just saw a recent facebook post of another 2014 RTS with the same exact problem. The answer there was, once one tooth leaves the belt, the rest follow in rapid succession. Age of the belt was the assumed cause of the belt failure. Whatever the cause, the new belt has arrived and will be replaced shortly. I only asked the question becuase I have never read about any belt failures on here, with the exception of stone damage.

Hopefully this does not affect a large number of Spyders. Agree with you that most damages were from debris puncturing the belt. Several folks have posted more than 100,000 miles on their oem belt. Glad to know your dads machine is back up and running.
