2014 RTL PULLING TO THE RIGHT?

My new 2014 RT LIMITED has an issue. It slowly pulls to the right if you ease up on the handlebars. Have 1500 miles on it now, and has been this way since delivery. Had it lazer aligned at 200 miles, and again double checked by mike at ROLO. Steering sensor checked twice. Tire pressures ran at 18, 19, 20 and 22. Left tire balance is fine. Right side tire mounted by factory with the balance mark 180 out; reset the tire and rebalanced twice. No change; still pulls right. Checked for a dragging caliper, but it's ok. Even if you get the bike over to the left side lane, it will slowly pull up over center to the right. Really perplexed, and my dealer is also scratching his head. Any ideas, or has anyone has a similar experience with the 2013 or 2014 RT's?

:shocked: Could it be the road? Highways are most often "crowned", so that water drains off of them.
That can make a bike pull to the right a bit... :dontknow:

See if your dealer will pull a wheel/tire off of another 2014 and put it on yours for a test drive. If that fixes the problem, then you're pretty certain you have a bad tire.

Roads are crowned in such a way that you would feel a pull to the right. Vehicle alignment is set up to compensate for this a little bit. Not sure if that applies to Spyder. There have been times I have had the same sensation. At 60 kmh I think that's about 40 mph you shouldn't feel that at all. If the road is real bad you would start to notice it at highway speeds only.

We aligned a 2014 RT and he was having the same problem. After numerous attempts to align it he finally swapped tires and it then started to pull to the left. He had a wheel replaced due to shipping damage but they did not replace the tire. Our thought was that the tire was also bad.

Just swap the front tires left for right and see if it pulls the other way then you will know if its the tires. Won't hurt to run them backwards for a few miles to see if that's it and it's easy to try.

Like Bob Denman, my first thought was the crown in the road causing the pull to the right but if it pulls right over the crown of the road from the left hand lane that's out. I would suspect a tire problem.

Make sure to have the same tire air pressure in both front tries, check the front shock spring setting both sides must be the same. Make sure the front a-arms move freely and the right front brake is not dragging. Check the handle bars square to the wheels and that the frame is not twisted. Make sure the hear tire is aligned to the frame.

true -- it may be road crown -- but instead of wasting time at a dealer -- try crossing front tires just to see if one tire has more rolling resistance than the other -- only a test

Having exhausted all other, more likely possibilities, it could be that one front brake is dragging. Check to see if one rotor is significantly hotter thatn the other after long runs, or if the brake pads on one side are worn significantly more than the other side.

Checking for proper drive belt alignment is a ROLO alignment prerequisite.

Probably bad tire. Kenda tire is not the highest quality. For your next tires, choose a high quality automobile tire. Good luck.
