There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Wife not comfortable on the seat of her new to her Rt. Can I remove the driver backrest? Maybe she needs a little more leg room. Are there any seats out there that would give a little leg room?

WELL MAYBE

I have a 32in inseam, and the OEM seat is OK for me - She must have really Loooooooooooong legs :thumbup::thumbup:.........I think the comfort seat is set back - 2inches ..... of course this gets that 2 inches from the passenger seat !!!!!!!... Mike

Mike -- Is the comfort seat any cushier, or does all it do is move the pilot back two inches?

Updated: FWIW, I'm only 5' 7"

I don't have one ..... only know what's been said here ..... and yes I think the driver gets to sit 2 in further back ....Mike

the problem

The backrest is the thing she does not like the most. Also she would like a little more leg room. Her other ride is a Burgman 650 with a trinity trike kit and different seating style with more room to move her feet.

I went with a Ultimate seat, ultimateseats.com and my butt has never been happier for it!
The ride comfort isn't even comparable!

If the backrest is from BRP: raise the seat, and you can see the mounting bracket. There is a little lever, in about the center of it (Kind of in the center), that will release the backrest from the seat. :2thumbs:

:opps: I can NEVER find it, without sticking my head in there, and looking arount... but it IS there! nojoke
Would a set of highway pegs give her the legroom that she's looking for?

Perhaps I can shed a bit of light on the issue of the BRP Comfort Seat and how the rider gets the additional leg room. Yes, the Comfort Seat gives the driver 2" or so more leg room. The pictures below show how BRP gets the extra room. The picture on the left is the stock seat; Comfort Seat is on the right. You see on the Comfort Seat the rearward taper area where the seat back is installed is shortened a good bit when compared to the stock seat. IMO, the encroachment of the Comfort Seat on the passenger's seat area is determined by how circumfrentially challenged a passenger may or may not be and whether or not the rider demands a seat back. I personally have no want/need/use for a seat back. My wife has a circumfrential deficit and is very comfortable while the Comfort Seat gives me the extra leg room I need.

Do be aware that if your wife needs more leg room, the setback on whatever seat she chooses may impact her riding posture and comfort because of her increased distance from the bars. I ordered the Tri-Axis bars and Comfort Seat in tandem because of my size and find the combination very comfortable in long days on the road. YMMV.

Not Mike but: The comfort seat is more supportive for the "driver." It moves the driver back two inches. Not sure about the passenger amenities--we each have our own RT's.
