• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a 2014 RT SE for a demo over the week end, but forgot to ask how to put in reverse. My 2010 is manual No book in Spyder. Help. Please

:yikes::yikes::yikes: The Spyder has reverse? :yikes::yikes::yikes:

Just kidding--they got you covered above. :roflblack::roflblack:

I find that if its sitting level, you don't have to press on the brake for reverse. Don't work for 1st gear though. Probably good idea to hold the brake anyway in case of a surge/lurch of the motor; wouldn't want to back into anything. :D

Dealer

I'd like to tip my hat to the dealer for allowing you the long weekend test ride. Seems there are some dealers that do not even allow test rides. Enjoy your weekend test run. Will look forward to your review of the bike. And your views of the paddle shift vs 'standard' transmission.

I refuse to either confirm or deny the question. I will admit there are a lot of things better on 14 over the 10. Seating position with the floor boards is a lot better.

Face it Bro; the hook has already been set! :D

You're as good as breaded, and ready for the pan!

I like it a lot. The e shift is different, but I got used to it real quick. Playing with the best way to slow down and it shifting down. As I said, foot boards and the comfort seat are great for my height 6'1". A lot smoother then the 2010. Do notice a huge difference in the grip size. I have tric led on the 2010. Dealer says they will make a great deal.

I would have to add Baker air wings, extra LED lights for PGR mission (as on the 2010), then I use a trunk rack for a light box for the same reason. Am not sure which "opitions" are on which model. I like having the CB as I ride with a Gold Wing club and talk to truckers( and a few others) on the road.

If I was 5 or 10 years younger, it would be a definate yes. I will be 79 in a couple months and how much use will I get out it ?????????????

So as other people have said, If you do not want to buy one, you probably should not ride one.

It doesn't matter how much use you'll get out of it as long as you enjoy it!

:agree:  :2thumbs:
We told our "Sonny-Boy", that he's getting nothing, but lots of good memories...

He's okay with that! :D

I am still thinking, got about 50 miles in today, making this harder.
Searched, but did not find, which could be me.
What is the best Up shift RPM ?
What shold the cruise RPM be?
do you downshift or let it do it ?
Any more help you could give on operating a SE ?
Thanks

For the 2014:

I recommend 2750 - 3000, Bob will say a bit lower. :roflblack: He is showing slightly better mileage than I am.

I pretty much go into 6th gear when I hit 50 mph or above. 65 on the freeway in sixth is ballpark 3500 rpm unless you are coasting downhill or pulling uphill.

The automatic downshifting seems to be less clunky than my 2010 or 2011. I have only manually downshifted about 10 times in 7200 miles now.

Enjoy the ryde. The hook is setting...:roflblack:
