• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Those of you that have ridden a 2014 RT a while now, how is the new seat?
When i trade should i keep my ultimate seat , will i still need it for the 14?

I don't know about the ultimate seat, but I am sure someone that does will help out. I do know the ultra comfort seat from BRP is 100 times better than the 2012 stock seat.

When you mention ultra comfort seat, is that the one that comes standard on the RT or is that the upline one that has to be ordered?

I just got back from a two-day 553 mile ride (276.5 each day). The longest stretch was 152.9 miles, and only stopped because my wife needed to stop. I did get gas, but only because I figured no reason to stop again 40 miles later. I can tell you that during this entire trip my butt never got sore, but my calf muscles did today on the way home. This was about 200 miles into the trip home, and all I had to do was move my legs a bit. I think most of it was because I sit further up on the seat when two-up than I do when solo.

If you have your old stock seat I would say keep it. Then if you find you do not need it you can always sell it. You will get more for it this way that in a trade.

I am very pleased with the stock seat on the 14 RTS but it does need the backrest, other then that it's very comfy.

:agree: would have been nice to have that on the bike, but since I did not have one on my 2012 I do not know what I am missing.

2014 SEAT

I have a unique butt problem that limits all my activities. I am usually EXTREMEly uncomfortable sitting on anything for any length of time. I generally just have to grin and bear it , nothing is comfortable. My 2013 RT was no exception, loved the bike, was planning on gettting Ultimate seat. Just didn't get around to it before I ordered the 2014. This weekend on extended ride, it just dawned on me: My butt wasnt hurting!

I can't believe it. Stock seat is really comfortable! Hope this continues to be the case!

I'm not a tall person, but I have a fat a**. As a result the stock seat, in effect, moves me forward cramping my legs. It looks like I'll have to look into aftermarket options.

thanks

Thanks everyone I guess I will have to wait and see how the 14 stock seats fits me. Maybe ill put my stock seat back on the 13 if i trade it in and sell the ultimate here.

New seat that is standard on the RTS is very much more comfortable than the stock seat on my 12 or 13, i have some reservations about the back rest and will wait until i get a chance to try one out before i make any comments on it, BUT the new seat has more cush for your tush.

 This is great news to hear nothing but positive comments on the stock seat. If this holds true for me as well, this will be the very first bike I've ever owned in my entire life that did not feel like I needed to replace the seat.

I also have the stock seat but I have it in Chocolate and I got the backrest put on Saturday I have never used one before other then sitting on the back of a bike as a rider.. I have found after I figured out :opps: my chap's belt was right in the middle of the bottom of it and moved it down just a tad its wonderful at stop lights when you can just lean back.. for me being only 5'5" I don't really use it till I am stopped or I have the cruse control on.. but I plan on making me a cover that has a little padding with a GOS patch on it to go over it so that I can use it while I'm ryding.. I love the seat both without the back rest and with it..
