• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT models... any gas smell?

Wrong on the many fill ups comment. Mine was BAD on the ride home from the dealer after purchase. Darn near rescinded the deal and had them pick the bike up. The problem is NOT with overfilling. It is an undersized, poorly designed vapor recover system that cannot cope with the amount of heat being put into the fuel tank less than 2 inches from bare exhaust pipe.

I can report now that since Sunday when I completed my updates, my 2013 is without gas fumes. I rode to work yesterday and sat in traffic for 90 minutes going home. If it was going to fume, that would have done it. Time will tell, but I think the heat and fumes on the 13s is a solvable problem. BRP needs to step up and fix it for the rest of the 13s. I think mine is fixed.

One more piece of important information on the 13 canister. Mine was not full of fuel when removed so it was not an overfill causing the fumes on my bike. In fact has not even a whiff of fuel smell in its now dormant shelf state.
And please share your wisdom and how you did your fiixes with the rest of us:popcorn::thumbup:

You might want to take a look at the following which was in another subforum of Spyderlovers:

But it IS true, that overfilling has great potential for causing the fuel smells also...
...probably due to a poor design... :D
(Since nobody in here seems to want to take the blame for anything...)

Yes, it is likely that overfilling can get gas in the canister. Just was not the problem in my case.
