• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT Limited

There is really only two reasons for the 2014's being delivered late.

1. Too many 2013's on the floor and they want to try to clear out as many as possible

2. A problem was found out late in the testing period and it is severe enough warrant concern and more testing. I do testing for a living and I can tell you that this kind of thing happens now and then. If it's something small it gets released. If it is a major problem then the product doesn't go into production.

Sorry I Didn't Explain

I just want to see those 2013 Spyders get sold and out of my dealer's showroom so he'll have room for the 2014's. Maybe I shouldn't have posted.

But it does show us how many unsold 2013's there are out there. 11 unsold bikes at just one dealer is worrisome. Multiply even a quarter that amount throughout their dealer network and that is a lot of unsold bikes out there. Way too many.

I feel your anxiety! That was me LAST YEAR! Hope it works out better for everyone! I'll be waiting for the reports!

Unsold 2013s Sitting in Showrooms

In the Northern half of the country where the winter weather shuts most if not all riding down for two to four months those unsold units will be sitting in showrooms until March or April and in some cases May depending on the region. The Southern half of the country might lose a month at the most in some places so that's not an issue. Another thing is this sluggish economy, particularly in the so called "Rust Belt" areas of the Mid-West and North East that have been hit hard by factory outsourcing.

Official word on the delivery dates for the 2014 Spyder RT: Dealers should start receiving units starting sometime in early January. :)

Brp - wait ... From October to shipping to dealer in January now? Why? I don't want to wait that long I am bike less now, may have to cancel my order,

Thank you for the "Official" word. Many will be disappointed, but if that means it will be worth the wait--then Yes!

Hear broken but I concur!!!! More info would be great then just a delay notice

I don't know what the official word is but you can bet they found something they were not happy with and they held up putting it in the dealers hands for them to fix it. This is a good thing anyway you look at it other than you and I don't get our Spyders when we want them. Given the choice I'll take the fixed at the factory RT. :doorag:

Not happy about this at all! Why they told their dealers that it would be October and now being delayed until next year.

I have spent well over $100k with BRP/Can-Am/Skidoo over the past 15 years......

Starting to lose faith in BRP/Can-Am!

The only information I have right now is when dealers should start receiving the 2014 RT - early to mid January. BRP has a commitment to providing the best possible product. Right now, that means we are on track for delivery in early to mid January.

Brp I respect your decision I am being selfish, ;( me wants my Spyder now, die to the inconvience do I get a free accessory? Mine is practically paid for in full!
