• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

About to leave Spyderfest for home when I released the park brake the light on the cluster was still lit so I pushed the button again, you can hear it set and release but the light stays on. What needs to be done to fix this issue?

The cable jumped off the pulley. Common problem.
Easy to fix but you have to remove the right side panels.

Don't think that's the problem, it still sets the parking brake, the light stays on after I release the parking break.

Ah OK.... then it is probably the switch that senses the brake.
When you press the brake peddle do the brake lights still come on? Or are they staying on?
Are you getting any codes?

Bob

Put Spyder in Neutral.
Can you roll the Spyder?
IF YES, check your brake fluid level.
The light can stay on IF the level is low.

If you have low fluid it will say that in the upper left side of the display (in real tiny letters). I had low fluid while I was there. The low fluid message does go away but you should see it when you first turn the Spyder on.

Not with the brake is set. I'll check the level later tomorrow, had it serviced the week before we left on the 26th.

Follow up today, found the problem, the micro switch under the wheel where the cable goes was loose and not working / stuck, sprayed with contact cleaner and replaced the pop rivets and it's working again.

Having a similar issue on a 2011

No codes, but parking brake won't hold on a driveway gentle slope! I've done the cable, done the spindle, I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Very odd!! Thanks! Cheers! Joe

My Spyder parking brake would not hold on any kind of a grade. Dealer replaced the motor under warranty. Technician said he could tell immediately when setting the brake that the pulley was rotating as far as it would go and then backing off just a bit so there wasn't enough tension on the cable for the brake to hold.

Tell me if I'm wrong in my thinking, but it really seems dumb to put a micro switch anywhere on a bike where it is exposed to the weather elements. At some time its going to be covered in mud, water, salt from winter applications etc. and will bind up and not be functional.
