There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2014 RT issue

A few people on Facebook at about the same mileage are also complaining of worn out rear tires on 2014 RT's!

Here is a picture on one guys rear tire with only 7K on it.

Man I thought mine looked bad at 6146 miles. Maybe I have a few more thousand in it.

I love my new 2014 RT-S, i have 6200 + Mile on it and the only complaint i have is the rear tire is already worn out, this is not as sturdy a tire as previous years. If that is the only problem i have with this ride i will continue to be happy.

Too many burn outs at the track...

Tires

Looking at the tires in post number 20 it looks like over inflation, worn in the middle. But if thats where they want you to run for handling properly it is what it is.

Must be a problem if we got Cruzr Joe to complain!! :)

:yikes:, Yeah, I don't usually complain unless i am having a problem. I am not happy with the rear tire, so i will replace it with one that i will be happy with.

Ok Joe, why are you being so secretive about the brand of tire SPYDERPOPS is putting on your Spyder? Has Harvey "invented" his own brand of tires and you are beta testing it for him? ;)

Only 6 000 miles on the rear tire and already worn, it's normal with the Kenda scrap. Go with Khumo or Falken car tire.

Does anybody smell burning rubber on their 14?

I do on occasion. Sometimes I even smell it when sitting at a stop light. I noticed the same smell when I had my 2012 RT. Owned it for 22 months and the burning rubber smell was present on occasion up until I traded it. Don't think it can be attributable to the bike being new.

:hun:,...The list of QUALITY tires that will fit on the front of 08 thru 2013 Spyders has been posted so many times it's hard to keep count. The front tires DO NOT have to be exactly 165/65...........they only have to be 14 inch.....................just the other day Mr.Orange posted a pic of what I consider the BEST alternative front tire currently out there. The Yokohama " S " drive 185/55 - 14, it's " V" speed rated and has excellent wet - dry handling & it's also a great mileage tire. It also has the largest footprint of any tire that will fit on the front.......this = fantastic front end holding force ( ie G-force ).......ANNNNNNNND it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less expense than the OEM Kenda's ,,,,,,,which I wouldn't put on my lawn tractor.................Your welcome , Mike

Mike... We're talking about 15" front tires... There's not a lot out there. :gaah:

Federal has one that'll fit; Maybe it's Guzzi, who's got one... :dontknow:

Joe...just hang out a little longer, the 2015 model will be out and you'll be back to a new tyre (tire) again

I am amazed the variation of wear and tear I have seen amongst the various Spyder owners. Several weeks ago, I was at the dealership and ran into a nice couple who both own Spyders. Her Spyder was a duplicate of mine (2012 RT-S) and she was replacing her rear tire.

Both of our Spyders had roughly the same mileage (9,000+) and I couldn't believe the difference in visible wear & tear! She definitely needed a new rear tire; I definitely did not (not even close)!

I will be interested in reading about other Spyder owner's experiences......

Watching with much interest. Have been used to 13K to 15K on those rear tires. As a high mileage driver, I am not going to be a happy camper with having to replace two or three tires a season.
