• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I love my new 2014 RT-S, i have 6200 + Mile on it and the only complaint i have is the rear tire is already worn out, this is not as sturdy a tire as previous years. If that is the only problem i have with this ride i will continue to be happy.

I have 4300 on my 2014 RTL and the tire already shows a lot of wear
I believe the OEM tires are not made as well as the ones in earlier years

I see there have been several reports of 2014 RT's pulling to one side and that has , at this stage, been blamed on the tyres. So that may also support the thought that they are no made so well??

had the bike Laser Aligned by Spyderpops, (tracks straight and true).

Rear tires are too soft.

As I see it..!!

the tires are not well suited to the new engine with added horse power and low end torque. Getting used to ryding this new machine is also contributing to the early demise of the rear tire. It is really easy to spinthe tire but seems several have gotten low mileage...:gaah:

QUALITY TIRES

I've said this about a skakillion times " KENDA'S " are not on anyone's list of preferred tires, but apparently nobodies listening.....:hun:....:agree:...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:Mike

I agree. I'm right there too, Joe. 6146 miles on my 14 RT-L and my rear tire is about worn down to the wear bars in the center.

I'd be interested in what brand of tire SPYDERPOPS is installing on your ryde for you.

BRP s current memo recommends 20 in the front tires now and the 2013 and 2014. I run 28 in the rear and I will replace it shortly with over 11500 miles

I'm running 28 PSI in the rear tire as well. I'll be lucky if I get 8000 miles out of my rear tire. I'm at 6146 miles with probably 85% of those being at highways speeds (60-70 MPH).

Better proven alternative?

Finding a quality tire in the size needed for the front is not producing many results.

:hun:,...The list of QUALITY tires that will fit on the front of 08 thru 2013 Spyders has been posted so many times it's hard to keep count. The front tires DO NOT have to be exactly 165/65...........they only have to be 14 inch.....................just the other day Mr.Orange posted a pic of what I consider the BEST alternative front tire currently out there. The Yokohama " S " drive 185/55 - 14, it's " V" speed rated and has excellent wet - dry handling & it's also a great mileage tire. It also has the largest footprint of any tire that will fit on the front.......this = fantastic front end holding force ( ie G-force ).......ANNNNNNNND it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less expense than the OEM Kenda's ,,,,,,,which I wouldn't put on my lawn tractor.................Your welcome , Mike

Cruzr Joe, I agree about this being the only problem I have on my 2014, being no big deal. Now I got to get a tire on the rear before our trip to Durango. Does Spyderpop, Lamont and Fred Rau have any thoughts on rear tire, would like to hear from them on this subject.

A few people on Facebook at about the same mileage are also complaining of worn out rear tires on 2014 RT's!

Here is a picture on one guys rear tire with only 7K on it.
