• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Re The 2014 Owners Manual

Can't find any reference to a Trailer Mode on the Display perhaps the new 2014 engine will not need it

I understand many did not select in on the 2010-2013 Models when towing a trailer anyway

Also looks like the have kept the same method for Mirror Removal

Wondered if they have fitted a louder horn and sorted out the Indicator switch yet

From what I gather from watching the product videos on the 2014, the new motor produces enough power and torque that a trailer mode is not needed.

What I wonder is does that mean that it now has a higher towing capacity.

It's still listed as having a 400 pound towing capacity...
Let me go check the owner's manual for specifics on towing
BRB!

I did a pretty quick scan of the manual, and I didn't see anything in there regarding a trailer mode...
They do have a lot of information regarding towing; just no mention of trailer mode anymore...

Trailer mode not required on the SE6 because the clutch is no longer a centrifugal clutch. The new clutch is hydraulically activated via a solenoid so the clutch is either engaged or dis-engaged. Meaning the clutch is locked up when engaged at any rpm.

I am still a bit confused about the trailer mode. I bought a 2014 RT-S and 2014 RT-622. Vehicle manual says nothing about trailer mode but the manual for the trailer states " SE5/SE6 Models - if this trailer is towed by SE5/SE6 models, the trailer mode must be activated.....If trailer mode is not activated when towing a trailer, engine components might be damaged."

The manual repeats this in the Pre-ride Inspection section "When using with SE5/SE6 models, make sure the multifunction gauge is set to trailer mode."

Did BRP screw up the manual for the trailer or am I missing something?

from what I gather the 14 manuals are basically 2013 manuals!
