• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT FRUNK SWITCH

Had an electric accessory frunk switch installed by dealer before delivery. Works great, just like the standard one on my 2012. NOW tell me WHY the factory changed the switch color from the standard orange to a "BRIGHT BLUE"!! It does NOT match any switch in the cluster, and "ANNOYING AS HELL" glaring at you in the daytime, and especially at night. What genius engineers "bright" idea was this!!:gaah::gaah:

Thanks for letting us know.....I am wondering "why they didn't leave it standard equipment?":banghead::banghead:. I used mine all the time on my 2012 RT Limited :2thumbs:. Now I'll just use the key ....sigh....:cus: Spent a lot of money for the RT Limited (as you know)....you think they could include this on the Limited package (AND MATCH THE COLOR OF THE SWITCH!!:yikes:)

I saw the lighted switch on either a 10 or 11 back when I had a 12. The 12 had a orange, and the other a blue; might be other way around (been awhile), and was told that they changed colors in 2012. Tell them you have a 2011 bike to get the correct color, or change the other switches.

So every thing that's needed is on the machine
only thing needed is the switch. Is this correct?

I am not 100% certain since we do not have it installed on our 2014 RTs. From the looks of things when I had the machine apart to install the GPS harness, there is a mount bracket for the electric actuator but no actuator on it, and while I did not look close, no wire harness for the install caught my eye.

I have been considering a DIY setup that will unlatch from either a hidden waterproof switch or maybe a car remote style if I get really motivated. Possibly set it up for both front lid and seat for fuel filler access.

With all that we've recently seen in here...
The colors of a lighted switch??? :banghead:
Try to look at it this way: It'll be a lot tougher to mix them up when you're either parking, OR opening up the frunklid now. ;)

Sorry, but I do not know. I was just commenting on how the 2012 lighted switch was orange, and the prior years was blue.

I would think that the wiring for the release is there, as it is cheaper to not change it than to change it. Kind of like when how back in 1984 when I bought a car without a radio. The car was still wired for the radio and speakers, but just did not have the radio and speakers installed.

Wrong! You must also purchase the electric actuator for the frunk. I watched the dealer install mine while they assembled the bike; just didn't pay attention to the switch color.

My 2011 is blue and I have seen 2102 and 2013's and they are orange. So you got an older model switch.

How much do they go for?

My 2012 RT Limited was orange switch light and matched all the other dash lights.....now I own a 2014 RT Limited with NO electric frunk release....that's progress - I guess! :banghead::banghead:
That electric frunk release I used all the time with my 2012 because it was there! I am going to try just to use the key, it will be a little less convenient -- what do you expect when you pay over $30K for a bike anyway! Wow -- my question is why did they remove it ????
