There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Did the 2014 rt have the front spocket problem, no red dust, but noticed what looks like antiseize coming out behind the bolt, note bolt is tight,

thanks

I have a 2014 RTS-SE6 I didn't have the sprocket problem.

If one examines the Rear Drive parts fiche for the 2014 RTs one will see that the original design had a 28 tooth black sprocket, a separate additional outer flange held to the sprocket by six bolts and the flanged bolt and washer that anchored the whole assembly to the clutch shaft. Now why do you think our northern brethren changed a winning, trouble free system to a single sprocket, flanged bolt and washer? Shekels, dollars, quid, my friends, or whatever other coin of the realm one wants to use.

:agree: .... this is EXACTLY why in 2014 we began having lots of DESS issues .... BRP has long track record of doing things like this ..... jmho .... Mike  ................. PS " skip " I have over 61,000 mi., so far No Red Dust

Every time I get red dust I just spray paint it black. It seems to work for me:dontknow: I know, I know it’s been a pretty boring day.

I was able to locate a spare (white) through cheap cycle parts. I carry it with me when I go on trips because I know that nine out of 10 times the dealer won’t have one.

We had 84,000 miles on our 2014 RT without ever needing to replace the front sprocket. Now the DESS module was another story!

Interesting the parts book differs from the actual installed part. Our 2014 RTS has the original drive pulley since new. It is a one piece pulley. No bolts or bolted on outer flange.

I did swap over to the new style bolt many years ago.

I actually don't know what sprocket my Spyder has as I haven't had the left rear side panel off since the 56K service when it was the same as every other time I've had it off, bolt tight, no rust, just a little dirt. That 3M thread locker BRP uses on everything holds almost like red Loctite.

For the hell of it I just checked the Rear Drive parts fiche for the 2013 RT Ltd SE5 and guess what, although the part numbers are different for the sprocket, that thing I called a flange is actually called a flywheel, has no PN and is listed as not available for the '14 RT. Based on other inaccurate written information about the '14 RTs I'll bet the blind editors at BRP worked on the '14 RT Rear Drive parts fiche.

My take on it is that nobody can say with any certainty which models and years are subject to this problem, but certainly F3s were.
