• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RSS SE5

I bought a new spyder RSS SE5 three weeks ago (my first "motorcycle" and I LOVE IT!)
For the record "Can-Am Red" IS NOT RED! ITS ORANGE!

I Thought someone might like to hear some of the adventures that I have come across with the new Spyder RSS
my other half and I own an auto repair / motorcycle repair shop in Knoxville, TN and we are a two brothers dealer, so we ordered in a juice box and dual carbon fiber black exhaust. Two brothers told us the part numbers were the same as the 2013 and it would work on the new ones.

Turns out...not so much

juice box doesn't work, the connectors for the injectors are different and the programing may be different so we sent that back and have been trying to see when they will get around to releasing a new one

the exhaust however DOES work. I couldn't wait to put it on, so we installed it in our home garage last night and boy does it sound great.

Oh and KN has an air filter and it fits just fine as well in the new models.

We bought a windshield from Cee Bailey's Aircraft Plastics. It was made for a 2013, but they verified it would fit on the 2014 before they mailed it to us. Looks good!

Next mods to come are some skid plates, sway bars, new custom paint job, LED kits, some fun brake lights that the harley in the background has (bought the bike from a TN FBI agent and the brake lights are like red strobing police lights, they are AMAZING), and then some JBL Audio speakers and head unit.
Some of the mods will have to wait till winter, I'm riding this thing everyday and I dont want to be without my new toy for a few days =(

Anyone find anything else out about mods on the new RSS? Please share! I would love to hear some other peoples adventures.

good luck with the new syder

I have the 2014 rss same color,I did the skid plate and smooth tension bar and hmf muffler, did not do the sway bar yet ,the oem sway bar seam to work great for now just love this spyder:yes::yes::yes:

Congrats on the bike

I'm surprised they told you the juice box would work they told me they werent sure. The 2012 is different but the one listed for the 13 ST might work for the RS models The 13 RSS and 13 ST have the same injectors I have not looked at the 14's . They told me that they didn't think there would be one specifically for the 13 and up RSS models and the 14 RTs with 3 cylinder. Sucks I know:banghead:

How does the HMF sound. Thinking about putting one on my 2013 RS:clap:

Well I took my baby down the dragon today for the first time. That was fun! Unfortunately towards the end my foot slipped going around a turn and slammed the brake down. My wrists are going to be hurting for a few days but other than that, had a great ride.

Now time for the first oil change and the new juice box kit. Two brothers swears that this kit will work this time... We shall see.

No BRP Backrest for this model

Not sure if you were thinking of it down the road but don't be confused by the BRP literature. There is NOT a BRP passenger backrest that fits this model. I spent $650 to find this out. I don't carry passengers but the backrest on my old model worked great for the way we pack camping gear and luggage. Besides that, I have the Can Am red one also and I love it. We did 10 States in 9 days and loved every minute of it. I had no problem keeping up with my husband on his Yamaha FJR. This handles the corners better than my 2009 version did.

Good to know!
I'm not planning on buying the backrest, my duffle bag fits over the back handlebars so if I put a backrest I probably would have issues with my luggage set.
But I do have a buddy that was talking about adding a backrest I will definitely tell him to see if he can try one before he spends the money.
