2014 RS ambient temperature reading on insturmrnt panel

I purchased a new 2014 RS a couple of months ago and it had the ambient temperature reading on the instrument panel just to the right of the RPM reading. It stopped displaying and I can't get it back. I have read the manual without help. Had it in for first service and was told that the RS didn't display ambient temperature reading on the panel.
Now I'm doubting myself about it ever being there?
Can anyone help?

its there go into the menu and set up and turn it back on the sender is by the right hand upper shock mount but it isn't very close in reading since it picks up all the motor heat under the bodywork

Thanks for the reply. It is nice to know I am not loosing my mind

I've found it but haven't figured out how to turn it back on. Do you know where I could find specific instructions for that? I will keep trying anyway and maybe stumble on to it.

Take it to a dealer, it should be under warranty.

Here's the thing..!!

On our RS you press the "S" button above the cluster to display the temp. You have to press it very short or you go into the set mode. Press it again to go back. They are different displays so you have to switch back and forth depending on which data you want displayed...:thumbup:

Definitely get a different dealer! That one apparently has no clue. :gaah:

Anybody ever thought about relocated than sensor to a more temp neutral location so as to maybe get a better reading?

Ambient temperature sensors aren't meant to take a static temperature reading. They are really only designed to be accurate when the vehicle is moving. That could be whey your temperature seems to be off.

Thanks, I was holding the button down to long. by pushing the set button briefly it displayed the C`/F`. Then by bushing the bottom button it displayed the temperature. Now when I quickly push the set button it will switch back and forth the RPM / Temp. Thanks you very much for the help. It certainly doesn't cover this in the owners manual. I really like having the temp. reading available since the tachometer is already there anyway.

Just keep in mind that the temp displayed is not the temp your body is feeling. That temp is the air temp flowing to the air box and throttle body. It may read higher seeing as road temp can be 170° or more but does give you an idea...
