• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 Models

Does anyone know when to expect the 2014 models in the showroom? Do some dealers get theirs earlier than others? Also can you explain to me how the process works to trade in your older spyder for a trade up to the 2014? Is it like a car? Is it better to sell privately than to trade it in? Also the trade in is financed and not paid off. :)

Best thing is ask your dealer and find out what they can do and go from there. I'm thinking the same way. Good luck:yes:

The trend has been November from previous years, though some are stating a rumor that we might see earlier. I doubt that though. Better to sell privately. Will get 3 grand more than trade. It takes a while to sell on ebay, so if you serious, you might want to start working on that soon.

Your answer will vary from one part of the country and dealer to dealer. Some dealers get them early on--I THINK that it depends on their standing with BRP and how many units they sell.

Example: my dealer will not have them until February or later. Nobody is going to be driving or buying a :spyder2: up here in the winter. Its snowmobile time, and my dealer sells more than any other US dealer (according to him).

You get less on a trade than an outright sell. The dealer has to make a profit on the trade in unit. Expect about $2K to $4K difference from retail--depending on the dealer. Trading in a :ani29: is like trading a car. You have to negotiate for your best deal. If you have a lot of expensive farkles on your :spyder2: it may be well to remove them and sell them (50% of value and below is what they are worth--most of the time). The dealer will tell you they are worth nothing--so remove them if possible.

If you owe a balance--usually not a problem with trading in. The holder of the lien gets paid first, and anything remaining then goes towards the trade. If you are selling to a private party, the bank still has to be paid first.

Hope this information helps. Have fun on your purchase if you decide to go for it.
