• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Found one on Amazon

What's the deal with the "holster-like" key fob? The actual key itself does not have a hole in it to put on a ring, and I'm uncomfortable with that for security reasons. I would like to drill a hole in it to put on a ring. It doesn't have any sort of smart chip in it does it? Anyone else deal with this same thing?

It is an unusual key configuration. I thought that you were a brand new owner, and that my advice to "give it a little time to see if you didn't like the key the way it was" was indeed constructive, as that's what happened with me. :dontknow:

Enjoy your new ride!!

latest update: I spoke with my dealer while waiting for this forum to become available again...
I've got one of the Aprilia keys coming without a chip, and I've ordered the correct chip to put in it!
When the bike goes in for it's 3,000 mile break-in service; I'll have a whole bunch of key pieces, that we're going to try and make work!

new owner and confused

I have used the "holster" for 2 years on the '08 and now for almost 4 years on the 2010. Never lost a key because it fell out. I have a set routine for caring for the key. The "holster" is the best key holder made, IMO. Put the "holster" on a key fob and run the Spyder. Worry less and enjoy it more.

What is this "holster" that you are referring to? I have just purchased a used 2010 RT and am afraid I will lose both keys unless I can hang them on our key board. The BMW cover just doesn't look like it would fit on the key...does it STRETCH well? Thanks
