• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2014 block off plate on 2012 RT

So I'm finally getting around to installing the 2014 block off plate on my 2012 RT and have a question for those that have already done it. I'm pretty sure there needs to be more airflow out the bottom, did you drill holes in the bottom, cut a big hole or what?
Thanks

Bob, Yep use right angle drill bit for starter holes, then a dremel cutting bit to connect the holes, Some have fit hole saws on right angle drills in there, I had also removed the right bottom plate and ventilated it, on my '13 the bottom plate needed to stay, maybe on a '12 it doesn't. (The '13 has a filter box down on the bottom plate for crankcase ventilation that is unique to the '13's I believe.)

Kudo's to Rob's Mods and Farkles for leading me down this path, check his how to here.

Thanks, my 2012 has no box at the bottom, the lower plate is not flat and looks like it can't be easily removed, but I certainly can ventilate it.
