• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 2015 2016 RT Top Speed?

I had an 11' RT A&C , and in 2012 I got up the nerve one day to "see" what it could do on an open back road. Made it to 115 (speedo) :yikes: before I chickened out and let off of the throttle. Then I thought of what may have happened "if" an animal had crossed my path while I was experimenting. Haven't tried that trick again, not even on my F3. Best I've had the F3 was 90, and that's on the super slab. I personally don't think an RT will break 120 mph, but that's just MHO. If I were you, I wouldn't try to find out a "top end" .... just be happy that it has enough "get up and go" to satisfy most folks.

Well, technically speaking you haven't heard it from me, so I won't feel bad about providing these definitions:

Google - boldness or courage

Urban Dictionary - The Mexican/puerto rican/cuban/south american way to say balls. ... Spanish word meaning your nads; Your manhood; Your balls. .."Hey lets see who has bigger cojones amigo!" " You got some cojones talking to me like that, amigo...want me to break your face for you?"

Top Speed to Rocky Mountain Oysters

I need to get on this forum more often. I have so much to learn. Maybe the bull saw what was happening & the bull set the Top Speed Record to save himself for the cute hereford he's been eyeing across the fence.

Mine has seen 105 mph on the GPS (and 109 mph on the digital display...)
It was still pulling hard; but I was done!

Ironic you mentioned Howard Johnsons. Considering that Howard Johnsons first two restaurants and the original Dunkin Donuts was from the place I was born and grew up. I have dug clams on the beach where HoJo no doubt got them also in the early years. Kind of sad to see the entire Americana diner thing of the originals going away.

PK

Didn't realize that HoJo's originated in Quincy MA. TY for the info

That sounds about right--the speedo will always show a touch faster than actual. Depending on the wear of the tire, the greater the wear, the greater the difference. GPS clocking intervals can make a diff also if accelerating.

top speed

If you look at your tac and it is half way to the limit in highest gear just multiply m-ph by 2 and you will know approximate speed most will be about 130 mph top speed.

FALSE. This does not incorporate all relevant factors... i.e., as speed doubles wind resistance quadruples, just for one example.

My two RTs:

OLD - 106mph. Many, many times. It just would not exceed that.

NEW - 115mph. With a slight tail wind. One time only, have never tried again.

Both as indicated by the speedo. Didn't have GPS mounted at the time, and no time to look at it anyhow!
