• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 2015 2016 RT Top Speed?

Docdoru ran his turbocharged GS at Bonneville... :bowdown:

His speed was just under 129 mph.
If you think that a normally aspirated "anything", is going to get near that...

And you'd like to think he'd have run faster in a better location. While they do the land speed runs there, it is far from optimal for top speed runs for any machine not needing several miles to get to top speed and miles to slow down.
The crappy salt surface and 4,000+ ft altitude are HUGE limitations.
Further, a lot has changed in the tuning area since he had that setup...[emoji6]

I did a search but this link didn't come up...not sure why people go crazy because they think you didn't do a search....if people don't want to comment just don't comment....I just read through all four of these pages in this link but it still did not give me the answer I'm looking for....it did have some good theoretcial answers which were well thought out....thanks
I appears no one has had the guts or reckless mind set to actually run their 1330 to its max RPM in 6th gear. The most non-life endangerment way I can come up with to find out is this. Run the engine up to max RPM in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears, either to redline or until Nanny squelches it. Do 5th gear too unless the max speed is more than you're comfortable running. I don't think Nanny will let you run the engine to destruction. Note the max RPM in each gear. If it its the same then that will probably the max RPM in 6th. If it changes then graph the numbers and extrapolate what it will be in 6th. Then in 6th gear note the rpm for every 10 mph increment, or 10 km increment, up to whatever speed you are willing to ride. Graph that data and extrapolate up to the max rpm from the previous test. That should give you a fairly reliable estimate what the top speed of the 1330 is without having to actually run it.

Will I do this? Maybe, but probably not. At least I won't do it until my 2014 has a few thousand miles on it to get fully loosened up and the weather is dry and warm, and I feel like risking a speeding ticket.

There was Florida rider with a 2014 that ran it to the limit. This was a couple years ago. Want to say it was around 125mph. The machine was a 2014 Rts

Hi Paul...
Do we have anything more than, "There was Florida rider with a 2014 that ran it to the limit. This was a couple years ago. Want to say it was around 125mph." ?
This all sounds about as vague as the typical "I once knew a guy, who had an ex-brother-in-law; whose sister used to know a fellow..." :D

This guy has an RT. Why does he not take it out and test it wide open for himself? What the heck, why ask someone else this question.

Grow a couple of "cahones" and test it yourself then give us all a report. Ya gotta wonder about some guy's who ask questions like this. ??

The term, "Agent Provocateur" DOES come to mind... :D

Man-up; cupcake, and tell us what you find at the top end of YOUR speedometer!

Give the OP a break guys. He's just asking out of curiosity hoping that someone out there has already risked his life to find out and is willing to fess up to it! If someone else has done it and we have the attested to results, it saves him having to risk killing himself for an answer to a low priority curiosity.

WARNING!!!! WARNING!!!!

Sarcasam about to blow up this thread:::::::

But what is the TOP SPEED in ECO MODE ??????:joke::joke::joke:

Sarcasm can cause::::::nojoke

So it's okay for him to expect one of us to risk our lives? :dontknow:

My gosh....cool your jets .... I just asked a simple question...I have no intention of riding the Spyder at top speed or expect anyone here to do so....I get asked all the time how fast will it go.....I don't always feel I can just tell someone I don't know but the speedometer says such and such....If it was documented somewhere by someone who actually knows I could then honestly answer someone correctly. It was a simple question with no hidden agenda. I doubt I'll do that again here.

dont sweat it, if I can get a hold of a RT I will try to get you some numbers.

Cahones

Can you tell me what "cahones" mean? Never heard of this word before.:dontknow:

We are joking around-----------------------------

Good Day Synthetic,
We are joking around------:joke::joke::joke:

This is a very good and helpful group. Ask a ? about your :spyder2: and -- trust me on this --- you'll get an answer. Some of us are old f@rts with nothing better to do than be sarcastic ( me, too often) , or a know it all outlook ( guilty as charged),

But we are NOT here to bust your chops!

Top Speed

In ECO mode I cannot get above 95. Do not even think about passing above 65 unless you have 3 miles to do it. There is no zip in 6tgh gear after 60.

No problem with your question. As you can see, the answers vary. :roflblack:

The 200 mph/kph speedometer gives me and others a chance to have some fun with the inquiring public. When asked how fast, I just point at the speedo and say nothing.

Another fun thing, when riding with a passenger, put the speedo in kph mode before the ride. Take it out on a highway. 62 mph or so is equal to 100 kph. When your going 75 plus, that's way over a hundred on the speedo. PS--I wont tell if you don't. :thumbup:

Personally, I have not been to 100 on the :spyder2:. We have to many LEO's that look for just such a thing.
