We have a 2014 RT S SE6 and I think it's a real hoot. Engine is zippy and the transmission is very smooth. Handling is good and it's very comfortable. Haven't had it long but, so far, it's been everything that my wife and I were looking for.

Like Day and Night

I had a 2012 RT S..... traded for a 2014 RT L..... WOW .. LOVE it... Sooo much smoother, more grunt down low.... No more worrying about RPM.... just miles of smiles.

At the moment, the :spyder2: equipped with the 1330 engine is the perfect combo. You can either get a RT version or the F3 version. Depends if you want a tourer or a cruiser.

I have had five :ani29:'s now and over 100,000 miles. The 1330 version is my favorite.

1330 ACE

Been owning and riding Spyders since 2009................and BRP finally got it RIGHT with the 1330 Ace engine / trans / clutch ( entire package is new ).....I'm 68 and grew up on " V " twins .......but this 1330 is as close as BRP's ever going to get to being a GOLDWING....and that is a compliment ............Mike

I am in love

I bought a 2014 RTL in September. I have 2800 miles on her and I cannot express my satisfaction. Even in ECO mode she has loads of get up and go. My last tank netted 38.6 MPH, not to mention about a million smiles. 'Nough said, I am in love ;)

Let's see..!!

that engine and transmission are little more than a year on the road. In that time they have performed well. If that length of time is enough for you your good to go. The same set up has been introduced in the F3 but that is this years new model no data yet...if your 2013 was one with problems you will be thrilled with the change but if not a test ryde will convince you...

I bought a 2014 RT SE6

and now I have just over 6k on it and the rear tire is worn out. :banghead: The front trunk latch has issues and the left saddle bag latch has issues also. :gaah:I get a limp mode now twice with each tank full of gas and it's beginning to stall again at stoplights. :dontknow: Second time it's been to the dealer for these problems. The belt vibrating issue is also present at any speed above 65 mph and when I stop and open the rear trunk I can smell hot rubber fumes. :banghead: Second time to the dealer for these issues also. BRP says suck it up and live with the belt vibration or buy an after market belt tensioner for $275+ which should have been on the bike from BRP to began with. On occasion if the bike doesn't stall at a stoplight the engine will knock loudly before it takes off. :dontknow: With all that being said, when the:spyder: is running right,,,,, it is a sweet machine. :2thumbs: If and when I get all the bugs worked out I may end up with one of the best rides I've ever owned. Would I buy one again, yes, because I need 3 wheels and for safety, performance, comfort and price wise you can't beat a 14 RT SE6.

YES SIR YOU HAVE HAD SOME ISSUES....... HOWEVER

:lecturef_smilie:.....When you stated " BRP TOLD YOU TO SUCK IT UP.....LIVE WITH THE BELT VIBRATION.....OR BUY AN AFTER-MARKET BELT TENSIONER " Well that discussion NEVER occurred ....so IMHO your credibility just went down the tubes ......sorry , .....It's one thing to seek sympathy and solace....But when you make these types of outrageous statements everything you say becomes suspect.......Mike

I am with you on that one. I'll leave it at that.

I suspect

you don't believe me but what it is what it is. I was told first hand by the service manager who made the phone call to BRP regarding the vibration problem, word for word, I was to LIVE WITH IT! It's been a known problem for sometime now and to date BRP has no intentions of dealing with it so it's up to me to live with it, or deal with it myself. The service department where I bought the bike has twice adjusted the belt, under warrantee, to try and reduce the vibration but to no avail, yet. It's going in again next week for a new tire and another belt adjustment. They've been very good about the situation and I have no reason to disbelieve them regarding BRP's response to the issue. To "suck it up" may have been a response from a frustrated service tech who could only offer me the solution of purchasing a belt tension device, which by rights no bike owner should have to buy to correct a problem on such a vehicle. So IMHO my creditability with you means the same to me as it does with you. My response to the person who started this thread was to tell the truth to him about what could be issues to be aware of, as I and others on this site have experienced. Also there can be solutions to most problems, with patients, through the dealer, and others you must solve yourself. Now, if you were present during the discussion you refer to, please tell me where you were standing when it occurred so the next time I see you I can say hi.

One problem for me is allowing the service tech to put words into BRP's mouth and then stating that BRP said such and such. Many times, we have seen situations where the dealership does not know squat about a particular issue. They then claim they talked with BRP and try to put the blame on them. BRP has not always been perfect, but the statements above are surely not from them.

My recommendation would be to try another servicing dealer. You may be surprised by better results. You are one of the very few who has had problems with the 2014, so your case stands out a bit.

I am sincerely hoping you can get your issues solved and become a happy owner.

Still a happy owner, just want to be a happier

owner. Both customers and dealers/service techs have good days and bad days and anything can happen. :opps: While educating myself (mostly here) the dealer talks down this site. Dealers rarely if ever concede to customer knowledge. As you and I know there are :cus: here, but they are in the minority and the difference is obvious. I created one bad encounter with dealer service but I was treated well anyway. From then on I walked through their door with hat in hand and money and honey in the other. However I won't allow myself to be taken advantage of. :lecturef_smilie:Keeping a balance between frustrations is sometimes trying but as long as I can, I'll be first to try and foster good relations. I have other dealers well within striking distance of where I live, but for now I'll stick with this one because I feel they can cure my bikes problems if I give them the opportunity and they try. Well.......except for the vibration issue anyway.

Back on track with the thread, we purchased our 14 RTSE6 in July and now are getting ready to turn 14K over on the odometer. It is an awesome bike and the engine and trans are perfect. If the belt tension is correct, we have no vibration at all.
