• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2013 Whines every stop at a light or a stop sign - any ideas?

First of all, I have a 2013 RTL with the recall completed. I am getting an annoying whine everytime I stop at a light or a stop sign. It also is doing it, at times, while in 1st and 2nd gear. Is this the fuel pump? should it be covered by the warranty? how long should I wait before getting anything done? I was told before it was normal for it to happen at times, but this is every time I stop and a lot of times when I go into gear.

 Here's a scary thought...

That whine might be normal, but you couldn't hear it until they removed the acoustic panels...

If the bike is running fine; I'd ignore it.

:D Aha... You didn't tell us this earlier...
They did make changes to the fuel delivery system, but I'm not aware of what they are.
Stop by your dealer, and let the Service Manager hear it.
Good Luck!

Ear to the ground...

if this is a whine you hear while standing still, get off and walk around with your ear close to the body and see if you can locate it. If around the drivers seat area it could be the fuel pump (14's were known for noisy pumps don't know about 13's). If it dosen't change when shifting into gears could be in the clutch area. In any case you should run it by a dealer and have them listen, maybe another dealer if yours insists its normal...you know..second opinion...:gaah:

My new one has a really howling whine between 50 and 54 mph. I think it's the alternator; my new 1965 Impala did the same thing for a while when new. (HAH! I know, 50 years ago!)

Anybody else with the alternator version (1330 engine) getting a loud whine like this? :dontknow:

Not Normal

I also have a '13 with the heat recall done, and nothing like you described. Take it in, that's why God gave us extended warranties!
