There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2013 spyder steering

I have one: Sell it and get a Gold Wing Trike. They don't ever seem to have steering problems.

Now that is funny right there, no matter who you are. Goldwing trikes don't have steering problems....first of all , you have to modify the steering to rake it 4.5 up to 6 degrees, in order to have a suitable steering. Secondly, Honda goldwings are famous for their front end wobble and cupping of front tires. I know this, as I have owned several Honda trikes, a Harley Triglide and now a 2013 RT Limited.

Yea. I read that and had to bite my lip. Goldwing bikes are almost perfect in every way. However when it comes to trikes it is a different issue. I have actually triked out Goldwing's with several differnet kits for people. I can tell you that if you dont rake it to at least 5 degrees you will wear yourself out. I have even installed a 8 degree custom tree. I actually havent had any bad luck with high speed trike front wheel shake but I can tell you they will feather and cup the tread a front tire.

At the end of a day on a Goldwing trike running at high speeds on twistie roads the rider is most likley going to be much more sore and tired than he or she would be on a properly setup spyder.

With that said, I think the person who posted that statement probably knew that it would draw us off topic and into a debate on trikes vs spyders. Sorry for diverting but I am weak and couldnt help myself:D.

Sent from my Galaxy S3. I may have made a spelling error or may have some grammer issues. My fingers are way to big to type on this tiny screen!

:agree: Let's keep this thread on the subject at hand. There are several trikes vs. :ani29: threads out there, or if you must--start a new thread on that subject.

I wrote that after talking to Wing Trike owners who said they never had a problem with their machines. Not once did any of them mentioning having to "rake' the steering. One of the guys does do twisties on his trike and says it handles great. As for the Wing cupping tires and front end wobble, mine did that when new. Why? Because of the garbage tires the bike came stock with and improper balancing. Moving up the chain of good tires and having the new tire mounted and properly balanced correctly eliminated the wobble. Also, some cupping on front tires is normal. Nature of the beast.

Dave, you should google a wing trike site. Think you will learn much more than these trike owners shared with you. One rides twisties.....at what speeds? None mentioned rake mods....perhaps they have no need. fwiw

I can't believe what I'm reading here, I must have got lucky. I have a 2013 RS-S that handles fantastic, tracks straight as a arrow. I will admit though, that my wife and myself have only got 600 miles on it so far and this is my first time riding a motorcycle and/or spyder on the highway. (My wife used to ride motorcycle and she loves it too, so much so, she wants to buy another one, possibly the RT Limited....Also I just finally got around to checking the tire pressure with my dial gauge, it was 10 pounds in the front? so I rechecked it with the BRP one, it read 14 pounds front. 24 pounds rear.....Oh, have not had to ride in any storms yet. So... So far so good.[

The RS doesn't seem to have any issues mostly the RT

So I dropped my Spyder off yesterday and told the service writer that it had a full tank of gas and I wanted them to ride it wherever they wanted to check the handling. So I called this afternoon and was told that both the service tech and the owner rode it and both of them commented that my Spyder handled better than their 2013 RT demo bike. He said that they both rode it in strong crosswind and experienced the side to side wobble but again they agreed that it was better than the demo. :banghead: I wouldn't recommend that anyone purchase their demo unless you want a wild ride!

I must have had the best handling 2010 RT ever made because it handled so much better than this one. I'm going to test drive their demo tomorrow and I'll let you know how that goes. I just wish I knew someone here with a 2013 RT that I could ride.

Please call BRP and get a case started, This is another example of a dealer arguing with an existing spyder owner. Im sure that you know how to ride and what to expect. The nerve of a dealer pawning you off like that. Every time I login I see another issue of a dealer not helping a customer.

PLEASE Calgon take me away!

Does anyone know how common the bad ball joint and alignment problems are in the 2013 models? Is there a get well date for shipment from the factory yet?

The fix for these have been out for a while now and no Spyders should be shipped without the fix.

Update on my Spyder. Called the dealer again today and they still say that there is nothing wrong with the handling on mine and that it in fact handles better than their demo. Of course this comes from two guys who probably have a total of 1,000 Spyder miles bertween them.

Now I will try to figure out how to video tape my Spyder
