• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013 Spyder RT or 2014 Spyder RT

Well, its time to trade the 2009 Spyder. So when I walk into the dealer figuring he'll have a 2013 RT avaliable or maybe a 2014 on the floor. I know the price will be better for th 13 but does the 14 have enough better features to pay extra?

I checked with my local dealer here in Central Florida, and the sales manager said that BRP was allowing $6,000 rebate on the 2013 RT's. It knocked me out of trading for a 14 since my 2013 RT-L only has 3,000 miles and it would have cost me approx. $10,000 to trade up. Too much money for me. I have had no troubles with my 2013. There are some fantastic buys out there on the 2013's.

Talk about the proverbial rock and a hard place decision. There will be large savings if you purchase a 2013. If the previous poster is correct about a $6,000 rebate--that is surely not chump change.

There are the "issues" with the 2013's to consider or not consider. You should read about them and come up with a decision.

If the 2014's (as advertised) work out--that is the machine I would recommend going for. Demand seems very high at this point--so expect a lower trade in and probably paying MSRP. It is yet to be determined if the 2014's will have any issues.

At this time last year, the 2013's were all the rage and the cats meow. That situation has taken a downturn since many issues popped up on them.

Buyers market on 2013's and sellers market on 2014's. A few months from now we should have some definate answers about 2013 fixes and 2014's.

Honestly, if looking for value, get yourself a lightly used 2012 RT. All the bugs were worked out of that design, and I'm sure you could find one at a very good price.
The 2013 seems to be a trouble filled "in-between" design.
If looking for features, go for the 2014. I don't think the performance is that much better, but the increased range gets my juices flowing.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

choices, choices..!!

the 14's have a lot going for them if all works out well. The 13's are getting fixed those with problems and dealer still have 09's 10's 11'sand 12's in stock. So as I see it money may be your deciding factor. Maybe not the deciding one but one to consider...!!

I guess the answer to your question depends on what your main motivation is. If saving money is your #1 motivator then go for a 2013 but if you want the newest thing with the bigger motor, longer range, improved radiators, etc. then by all means wait for a 2014.

Like the previous posters said the 2012 RT had all of the bugs worked out from the prior years and would be a good option also. However, I think with the big rebate on the 2013 you could actually pay more for a new 2012 than for a 2013. Also, only time will tell if the 2014 is all it is hoped to be. And like ThreeWhells said, the 2013 seemed to be an "in between" design and it proved to be very problematic.

Read up on some of the issues and then make up your mind. Good luck with the decision.
