• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Took my 2013 rt-s to Big number 1 for 4600 hundred serevice yesterday. The recall was done for the heat shield. No meltling on the master cylinder.

good news you didn't have a melted master cylinder...I think the kit is good...that's just from pics.....mine is in the shop in Greenville, TX with other problems but they will be installing the kit...looks like the kit will fit with what we have already done

Great..!!

not all have the problem glad your is one of them that did not melt. The kit will keep things safe...!!

Is your Spyder at Louis Powersports? Last week they told me the heat shield fix was not approved in the US yet.. Has this now been approved and do they have the parts to fix now? I am having my service ""4600 mile service"" done this Saturday at 9:30..

I hope they apply the fix at same time as service..

I hope the heat shield is the answer of the overheating issue. A better air flow inside the tuperware will also help the heat issue.

Yes...at Louis Powersports....call them and see when the kits will be in...I think this week...but check with them...I'm hoping they can find the source to my Spyder's problems.

Lots of heat under the tupperware. I'm just quessing but I think the air flow is not as good on the 2013 as my 2011 that I had did not have the heat problems.

Got a letter from BRP in Canada advising of the recall. Don't know if my dealer in Sanford, FLA has the fix, but it's a good sign that the word is out in the US:clap:

Ron, give Greg a call and set up a time. They have several kits ready to install. I'm having mine done along with my 14,000 mile service and some other things. We are still on for the horse country ride that JohnnyG has set up.

Well, took mine in and they are doing the recal work but had to keep it for few days due to finding an issue with clutch system. Shifting problem caused Spyder to take off on its own. Was weird and a bit scary. Should be back in my garage by thurs they say.
