• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RTL vs 2015 RTL which to buy

1330 engine gets my vote

Bottom line is always your decision: But the only way I would go back to the 998 engine is if there was absolutely no other option. the 1330 is superior in unlimited ways. I had close to 75k on my 998...thought it was WONDERFUL...now have 54k on 1330 engine....it is superfantastic WONDERFUL..:yes:

One thing to consider... nojoke
As much as the vast majority of folks will tell you to get the 1330-motored RT: Keep in mind that we all started out on 998s, and they lit the fires for us!
There's is nothing so inherently wrong with a 998-RT, that it should be summarily dismissed!

Thanks to everyone

I want to thank everyone for their response. The end result will be 2015 RTL. Now comes the all important finance misery.
I have to admit, the F3-T was very tempting, unfortunately if its setup to fit me, it will not fit my wife. So the RT is the best in all catagories.
I'll get a picture up here as soon as I have my hands on it.
Once again thankyou very much for all your time and answers.

:congrats: and Welcome to the Spyder world! If you're thinking of the F3T already, I'm seeing a 2-Spyder family in your future!

Which to Buy?

Hello Everyone,
I have the chance to buy either a 2013 RTL for 20 grand and 17,000km or a 2015 RTL for 26 grand with 20,000 km.
I have read all the issues with the heat on the 2013 and it seems that all the corrections have been done on the 2013.
The 2015, has Lamonster swaybar , fox shocks and all the running lights have been converted to led.
I have a 2013 STS and I don't find it hot at all. I guess the question is the 2015 worth the extra 6 grand or blow the budget and go for 30 and get a
2016/17 RTS ?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated by those who know more than I do. Ive done all the homework I can and my brain hurts.
Thanks everyone for your time and thoughts.

Mike

I'd like to add my own two cents. I have a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-S with just over 23,000 miles, and paid just over $12,000 for it. However, as nice as it is and as many accessories as I add to it, my wife and I will be looking to buy a 2014 or later RT-Limited. Why? Because it's smoother with three cylinders, 1330cc, more torque, more fuel efficient, and quieter. The 2012 was all that we could afford at the time, but we knew that we'd be looking at the three cylinder Limited as our eventual Spyder.
