There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013 RT-S Minor issues... but overall, very happy.

Hello Everyone.

I have a 2013 RT-S and I love it. Much better than the 2011 I had... but still a few issues.

1) Start-up: On occasion, when I start it up, I can't rev up. It just sits there are about 1400 RPMs. After about 30 seconds, it'll fix itself and I can shift and go along my merry way... or sometimes, I kill the engine and start it up again with no issues.

2) Engine dying at stops: I've read that this was an issue that usually goes away but I'm at 3000 miles and it's happened about 4 times now. Not a huge issue, since it always starts up again but annoying nonetheless.

3) Still "squirrelly": The ball joints have been replaced but there's still a lot of movement at high speeds (70+ mph). I heard there if people were still having issues, to let the dealership know and they would replace the shocks. Is this right? I can't find a recall on it.

I'm bringing it in next week for the 3000 mile service and will let them know about the issues... maybe they can do something about it.

Anyone having the same issues? What's causing them? What are the solutions?

Thanks!

HI, I experienced many of the same things on my 2013 RTS and a trip to your dealer is in order. It sounds like you have the bad shocks and you will be amazed how much better it will handle when they are replaced. I am not sure if there is a service bulletin on this but your dealer can check for you. As for the stalling and the throttle not responding I had this problem but for me it didn't start happening until I was at 10,000 miles. For me it was the purge valve and replacing that took care of the problem.

I would also suggest adding BajaRon's anti sway bar after you have the shocks replaced. It is the best money you can spend on your Spyder.

So does that mean the dealer will replace them under warranty?

Thanks for replying.

I ordered a 2013 RT LTD after test riding a 2012. Thought that the RT was a blast. Got my 2013, took 'er out on the road and I couldn't hardly control it over 45mph. I traded in a perfectly good BMW and was heart sick. Then the ball joint discussion began here at SpyderLovers, and I consulted my dealer. You folks were way ahead of them. I had to hold their hand thru the process. But once those joints were replaced, nothing but smooooooth!! Put a 1,000 miles on her last week and not a hiccup!

My right foot/leg get a little toasty, but no heat problems like some folks have had. I don't boil my gas or go "limp". I just can't complain except that I hope the 2013 heat problem doesn't effect the value of my $30M "investment"! Perhaps BRP will give 2013 owners a really nice deal on a trade for a new machine once the heat issue is solved! :ohyea:
