• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2013 RT LTD and Zumo 660

We purchased a RT-LTD recently that came with the Zumo 660. Didn't get much of a briefing on how things worked, and have never been able to hear the Zumo through the radio speakers. Just figured it was the way it was but ran across some threads suggesting that others were able to get audio through the speakers on previous models. Took it to the dealer today to get them to check it out but was informed that my only option was to use bluetooth or the internal Zumo speaker.

So my question, has anyone with a 2013 RT-LTD managed to get audio from the GPS through the radio speakers, or is the dealer correct?

The audio should come through the stereo speakers when in the factory mount. Mine has failed to go through the speakers a few times and I discovered that by resetting the audio on the Garmin unit the audio would again come through the speakers. When on the home screen, touch the volume icon. Then touch the "mixer" icon. Finally, touch the "restore" icon. That is what works for mine. I think the unit just gets confused sometimes. Good luck!

Thanks! :2thumbs:

Digest you read book also! You have a couple of options and you will discover other things you can do . For example I downloaded off road trails , so when I hook it up to my sled or atv I can see where the trails are. I hope the above suggestion solved your issue!

Also make sure the gold connectors on the back of GPS are clean. I have had an issue when taking it off when parked, then putting it back on no audio. A simple wipe of connectors and back in business.

That is correct, the GPS volume has to be 90-100% on all its settings. Also, you have to have the external speakers turned on at the radio settings screen.

Appreciate the replies. No joy though. I had read about the volume needing to be at 100%, but I hooked it up and did a restore on the mixer screen. I also watched the youtube that was posted on another thread showing a dealer hooking up the Garmin wiring to an RT. Amazing that you guys all have the capability of using it with your speakers, the other dealer actually did a hook up, and yet mine tells me that it isn't possible.

I sent some feedback to BRP, it will be interesting to hear what they say.

I had the same problem but did the above and it came through like she was sittin' on my lap!

When it works like it should, the spoken directions from the Garmin through the stereo speakers is loud enough that the traffic around you can surely hear where it is telling you to go. I often wonder if someone in another car is actually going follow me one day just to see where I end up! :) :)

Just to add closure to this. BRP responded to me, sent me a copy of the service bulletin from 2005 where it details what is necessary for the GPS, XM, etc to work with the speakers. Of course it verified that for the RTs that came with the Garmin and radio the audio is supposed to be routed to the aux mode when the GPS is on the cradle. (Mine was still using the GPS speaker). Called the dealer and spoke with the service manager and gave him the service bulletin information. He looked it up in his system and then gave me an appointment to get it taken care of. They discovered that the 3.5 mm plug was not connected, it has been reconnected and I am a happy camper.
