2013 RT hot foot even with block off plate

Ok here is a question being a former owner of a 2011 rt I had block plate and a hole in the bottom of the compartment to let hot air out, it work fairly well. Now my new 2013 it tried it without the block off plate still to much hot air, added the block off plate and still had to much hot air. Lastly, went to put a whole in the bottom of the compartment and guess what there is a metal plate under the plastic which was not there on the 2011???? So my question what have others done to fix the hot foot problem on 2013's.

Looks like we are blazing new trails on this one. I have been trying different things to resolve the issue. FYI on the new fy13RTs this problem stands out more because of the foot boards. At least for me it tends to make me have my feet further forward than with the foot pegs. Anyway, I made a temporary block off plate for the lower opening and removed the block off plate from the top opening. So far this has helped a great deal, my air wings help remove the heat from the top opening and my foot isn't roasted after only being on the bike for 20min. I'll keep the testing up and provide more feedback as I go along. Still need to try it on a long ride.

I sure would like to see BRP exhaust the heat in some other manner, this is a much bigger problem on the FY13 compared to my 2011.

Did you remove the splash guards as Lamont stated on previous years? Also, Spyderpops has added a new addition to his Block off plate: a baffle that prevents heat from coming up to the seat:

BTW I did not remove my splash guards and added the block off plate on mine. I can't say that the heat issue is any worse than my 2010, but there is still some heat coming up my seat, not the bottom...opcorn:

Almost all of my heat was coming out of the lower port. Blocking the upper port did very little, something has definitely changed in how the heat is exchanged. (could be the size of the exit ports, the fan and or its angle, or some other item) It could be many things but the end results is more heat that what I was getting from my previous canam. The bottom block off plate with the airwings seems to be doing a good job. I'll know for certain when I drive down to spyderfest.

i use both block-off plates but i do get alot of heat from the seat area.the most heat bars i got on the temp gauge was 3 from the top that was at a stop in 100 degree heat goes to 4 from top when riding.

They did remove those air deflector paddles off of the A-arm covers; perhaps to allow some air to flow past the inlets and dilute the hot air that exits them... :dontknow:
(I'm tempted to try and cut them off of a set of covers and see what happens; $60.00 worth of parts and a sharp knife is all that is needed!:thumbup
I would guess that you could try digging that metal pan out from under the plastic on your '13...
