• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RT Heat problems

I quote:

The repairs for the heat problems are coming in May... Why not give this rhetoric a brief rest, until we see how they work...
:bdh:

This gentleman has dangerous and persistent heat issues well beyond the scope of the recall. If discussion of problems like this isn't what we're here for, what is?

heat

I am having both problems, the heat on the right leg and thigh area has been there since the bike was new. temperature gauge has always read on the upper half, could be a defective gauge, a friend of mine put in an aftermarket gauge because his did the same thing but he has a 2011 model, I may go that route.

the only time my temp. gauge is below the half way mark is probably the 1st ten minutes of riding. I am just going to wait it out for a fix, at least I can ride my Kawasaki until then, I am trying to be patient with BRP for now.
As has been said, the recall fix will not address the problem you have. This is not a recall related heat problem. It is something far worse! I have never seen the temp gauge on my '13 RT go above 5 marks, even in 100° temps. Park your Spyder at the dealer and demand they fix it! Don't let them buffalo you, and don't deprive yourself of the fun of riding it.

If you disconnect both of the analog gauges the ones on the LCD display will come on.

Upper half of scale is far different from top of scale. The normal temp for warm weather is where the cooling fan switches on, just above half scale on the analog gauge, 5 bars on the digital gauge (also just above half scale). If this is where your gauge is reading it is not defective and the bike is NOT overheating. Your (legitimate) complaint is then body and leg heat and the fumes that is supposed to be addressed in the recall repairs to be announced next month.

Heat

It runs right below the red line, last October it was in the red when the water hose blew, then it shut down. It has not made it to the red line since they fixed it. The heat problem with fuel boiling, and fumes is my main concern so when they find the fix then I will take it to the shop by trailer.

Heat

I test road the F-3 and it was a very good experience, the1330 had lots of power and very little heat plus the 6speed was great keeping lower RPM's.. I would have to invest in a tire company because the back tire broke loose a few times.
