• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i am surprised that only 4 people feel that the bikes are extremely hot me being one of them

I think that what you'll find is that most people are having no problems. I've talked to 2 dealers who have done the recall work and between the two of them, only 1 out of about 100 RTs had any melted parts.

melted

i only have 1300 miles on my bike and the fuel canister was melted, so they ordered one on tuesday for me and as of today, friday, no canister yet so the whole week w/o a bike and now a weekend with out it.

You have every right to be angry. I certainly would be. Have you heard back yet from BRP as to why your bike is running hot?

NO

they said they are working on a fix for the problem and it might be a few weeks b4 they have it. the service manager told me they are using a new anti freeze in their quads that has a higher boiling point but they are not trying it on the spyders, i am a cool weather rider, i enjoy it and i am missing some good days here and that ticks me off. but if they can find a way to fix it for all the 2013 owners it would be great. i can't find the tread now but i remember reading the other day that someones friend came out or is working on a heat shield for the exhaust pipes to relieve the heat problems, my gas cap was 150 degrees in 66 degree weather after a ride. so something is wrong somewhere. why are some bikes hot and some not? i am wondering if it is a computer problem. than as far as millage goes, one day i went 122 miles b4 the light came on for low fuel than last week i rode 89 miles and the light came on and the bike took almost 5 gal's of gas. i would love to get rid of it but i have spent so much money making it the way i want and to take a big loss after only 4 1/2 months is just not worth it.

Let us know what they say. Hopefully this will be the result of much internal troubleshooting and testing by BRP.

There is no doubt that there is something wrong. I have read the same thing about gas caps that are too hot to touch. Mine has NEVER been anything but luke warm. Personally, I think it could possibly be an FI issue causing some bikes to run lean which then creates the excess heat.
