• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2013 improvements?

Hi all,

I think the ST and all of the improvements made to the different models in the brakes, options, looks and structure are great (thanks for the intel Lamonster!)

Since the new models share the Rotax engine with earlier models is there any information available about improvements Can-Am may have made to fix some of the little and maybe not so little issues people have talked about here and elsewhere? Things like blow by in the air box, stuff like that?

Thanks,
Y

Surprising, all view and no clue? :dontknow:

I've been lucky the issues have not been too numerous or too big (mostly) and have all been assembly issues.

I like the existing engine and could really see the value in having Can-Am hammer out the issues that have been reported by many folks.

I'll still probably get one anyway, it would be nice to know that there is some new grunt behind the new body and suspension.

Feeling lonely? :D

There's no way to know what may have been changed, until the 2013s are released. A ton of former complaints have already been corrected on older models and we're all hoping a few outstanding ones will be addressed as well. Most TB issues, along with SE5 shifting, early clutch wear, squeaky breaks, failing consoles, and others have been addressed. I would say, if they changed nothing with the drive train, the new line will be nice enough. We'll see what BRP means by "added heat shielding for added rider/passenger comfort" . That issue is a biggie for a lot of folks.

If they changed too much of the electronics, it could mean a huge learning curve all over again.

:agree: Code isn't sexy, so it doesn't sell vehicles... That will all be the "behind the scenes" stuff that might take some time to sort out if it makes a difference or not.
The functional stuff has been reported on; it's up to the buyer to decide if it's enough to make them pull the trigger.

I'm sure like many here to read that there will be no 4 banger (yet).
I hope this means the BRP fixed a bunch of the gremlins.
I'd really love to here that the air box issues are dead to everyones satisfaction and that blow by issue is resolved at factory.
Better plugs and wires would be nice too, they can buy them form Baja Ron if they like. ;)

Why don't they use a PCV valve and self-adusting valves?
