There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013 front end "recall"??

Going to look at a 2013 RT next week. A question regarding the front end - is the "recall" folks are referring to an official recall or a factory recall? Is there a list of VINs affected anywhere? Was there a VIN beyond which the factory itself had made all the necessary changes?
Thanks.

As of right now it is not a recall but a service bulletin. Officially, dealers are supposed to change the ball joints on all the new 2013's, but since they only have gotten certain amounts at a time, they go on a needed basis. So make sure you ask your dealer tech (I wouldn't ask a sales person unless you have full confidence in him/her) that it has been done. Also, a test rYde will confirm it for you since you can tell the difference.

Good luck!

Initially they were swapping out the lower ball joints on all 2013's. But BRP has since sent out affected VIN ranges for each 2013 model to dealers. If outside that VIN range, the ball joint issue was corrected at production. For piece of mind, ask the dealer to provide that, mine did.

Could you post the SB Vin range obviously the last number in the range. I have a new 2013 RT built in 3/13 and need to know if mine needs done. I have read the fixes didn't start till 4/13 at the factory.

Ask your dealer to show you the service bulletin, or check the VIN.

Did that but since neither the service manager or overall store manager have more than 3mo of experience I would rather I know my self. They are nice enough but I had to show them where the battery and tool kit was during the delivery inspection.:yikes: I think it is going to be a bumpy ride for me I already know more about the trike than they do. I also have a bad cruise switch ( told them so but it took an hour to agree with me) and water inside my gauges lens. It should have been noticed and taken care of before delivery IMHO. Why is it I can find service bulletins for my cars but nothing on BRP anywhere?

One of the advantages of reading SL is that in most cases, you will know more about your :spyder2: than the dealer does. I have a really good dealer, and I still beat them to the punch most of the time with information about the :ani29:.

Recommend you persist in your hunt to determine if information given you by the dealer is correct concerning balljoints etc. It sounds like they might not be up on the latest information.
