• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

From the picture it looks like we loose storage space in the frunk. If this is so, then I think the old spot was better. I only had to get to my battery two times in the 2 years I've had my RS, but use my frunk every-time I ryde.

44 liters just like the current RT and RS.

I have to agree. Will the trunk still fit my rain suit, riding jacket, jacket liner and helmet when I stop along the way. It's a tight fit in my GS.

Thank you for this Lamont...

As for the size being the same... They might have simply "Fine tuned" the space vs. the old way of not necessarily needing to. Truth is in the pudding. We have all seen the "Gallon" of milk or fuel containers keep the same volume, yet the shapes can vary greatly...

If my helmet, and winter coat no longer fits because of the "Shape", well that would keep me from buying one. It is a lot like the left side on the RT's... Cannot place any of our full faced helmets in there for the life of us... One goes up front, one goes in the right side compartment... If I lose the frunk.. Game over...

That said, I would find it really hard to believe that BRP is not very aware of this fact without compensating one way or another... That would be a marketing nightmare...

The reason your helmet wouldn't fit in the left bag is because the battery was there. My guess is that won't be a problem for 2013 and I highly doubt that you can no longer get a helmet in the front trunk. I got two in there before.

:gaah: You're really trying to get me killed. All of these great reasons to dump my old, hard to service, ill-handling 2010 model...

I understand. It is just me, a consumer with thoughts. And how it works for us. One helmet, one winter coat. I can fit most helmets by the pair all day up there. However that is NOT how we use our bike. Not all Full Face Helmets fit two in the frunk, ours being one of them (We tried many times). Not to mention voice box issues are to blame for most of our challenge.

And this does not change my input on how other space usages can change shape and keep the same "Volume".

I also suggested that I doubt we will have any issues. See my last sentence in my post you quoted.

It will be very exciting to see a pic on the left side showing the space gained from the battery being moved!!!

My offer of thought was about my thoughts. And until we can touch and feel them live and in person, my thoughts will remain optimistic with a hint of caution/reserve.

So, is the new 2013 tupperwear easier to pull off?

Handling is also hugely improved, if the rider rides more and posts less. combine that with surpassing 4k RPMs and the Spyder hugs the corners. Yup. even the 2010s.

Sorry Bob. couldn't resist :D

With the price gouging going on at some dealers anything that makes it easier on us is a huge plus.

Good news and bad. Easier to get to to check the terminals or directly jump or charge the battery. Harder to add wiring, since the trunk is more diffiicult to remove than the side panels. JMHO
